Has anyone tried it? If so, what were the results?

At least in the abstract, it stands to reason that it would aid in quicker and/or healthier nerve regeneration, assuming it's already going on, though perhaps even if it's not independently.

several months ago that had a lesion on her heel and was casting about for a hospital, maybe we will get an update. Ken in Texas.

A few months back my pulminary dr at a respected hospital told me it was worth a try, but not at his hospital because of cost. The issue was it is not covered for neuropathy. Wounds that won't heal (often seen in diabetics), spider bites, etc are covered. It would have cost about $60,000 at that hospital for me to get enough treatments to see if it worked. There went that idea! (Btw, he was in no way trying to sell this.)

Then, last month, my gym had a health fair and there were representatives from a wellness center that had both a hyperbaric chamber and a "smile studio." Although affordable it was not really the way I wanted to go.

Yesterday my chiropractor and I spoke about this subject and I found out his wife had gone to a different hospital that is also well respected to use their HC. It was not covered by insurance but not outrageously expensive. The HC they have is used for multiple people at the same time so I guess that keeps the cost down? I put in a call to them yesterday to get details and am waiting for a call back.

I did this in March this year and had about 5 sessions lasting about 45 minutes. I used a chamber that was part of an MS centre and we didn't have to pay if you had a crappy condition like MS, Neuropathies and brain trauma.
Many people with MS and brain trauma I spoke to felt it really helped.
At the time my sfn wasn't good but it wasn't as bad as it is now. I didn't feel much different using the chamber but I can believe that enhanced oxygen levels could potentially support good nerve health in theory.
I am really unsure about paying substantial amounts of money for this. I don't believe it could arrest sfn. If the charge were reasonable I would say it's worth trying but I am so scepticle of private organisations making false claims without the evidence to substantiate it

Thank you all who have commented with their experiences. I had no idea how expensive it was. I'll have to look into that. I wonder what the cost is. I mean, perhaps it's cheaper to take a very long vacation to a remote region, or go camping in the middle of the woods and away from the metropolis in which I live.

Thanks for giving me other options to check out! I don't think this treatment can hurt so if I can get it covered by insurance or it's not too expensive then why not?

I got a call back from the Hyperbaric Department at the hospital my chiropractor said was not too expensive. It was $2756 a session. Obviously my idea of not too expensive and his idea are very different!

The guy who spoke to me was very kind. He wanted to help, but neuropathy is not a condition that is covered by insurance at hospitals in my area. He explained they are required to follow standard insurance and medicare guidelines for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. He did give me the telephone number of a non-hospital center that he said would be more reasonable. I'll call tomorrow, but I don't have much hope it will be in my price range. So much for that......

That's insanely expensive. We need to chip in and buy out own.

Well, I'll look into it here and see what prices are like.
