I have had a very odd symptom I'm unable to find others who have experienced anything similar, which is why I'm posting my question, just in case I missed it.
I have been on Duloxitine for a couple months, which is where this assumption started. I was told it will go away but hadn't. My arms and hands are the only ones explaining this. I have various small slots on my arms or hands which when touched hurt like the dickins. It's like I bumped myself and have a bruise but when touched hurts 10 times worse. There is no discoloration of the skin just a spot of pain. It's been various all over the arms and hands but this last one on my right hand. The slot on my right hand has moved from the middle of my hand to the outer to the top of my hand and under my 4th or 5th knuckles. It hasn't gone away but now had started swelling for the last 4 days. My neuro hasn't called back and I'm just a little concerned as it's my dominant hand. Anyone have ideas on what it might be? I'm taking all my meds, using my motions Epson lotion. Some lidicane cream and motrin but still comes back and hurts more and harder to use. Thanks all!!! ![]() Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk |

So, went to a doc, my neurologist says it's not something neurological.
X Rays all good. Blood work seems ok. The doc decided to wrap my hand to keep immobile. 1200mg of Motrin, 3 hrs later 1500mg tylonol. Swelling went down a little but pain still there and brave hurts my arm. Ugh, how is it not a neuro side affect when it's the same pain add all the other times, just the swelling is new. It sucks because it's my dominant hand. I try to be careful but sometimes, hit it just right I'm in pain. Sorry to vent?! Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk |

Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatal Sorry you're hurting so much....certainly nothing wrong with Venting, especially considering you now have swelling, which is a new symptom. I wish I could help. I have invisible bruises that happen all over. It is definitely from the nerve damage. I woke up the other day and felt like I was punched in the face, went to look in the mirror and saw no discoloration. It remained for almost the whole day and finally fizzled out.
I get these spots mostly on my thighs where the biopsy at the time of my test showed significant small fiber damage. This was much worse in the beginning and I thought it was over with but apparently not. ![]() |

Quick update, a radiologist I work with had been following my progress with SFPN. He knew about my hand but wasn't sure. Came in today and said he had it, reflex systematic dystrophy. He showed me what he found and insisted I tell my neurologist.
Sent my neuro a message and called an hour later. Trying to see me. Interesting, maybe my Rad is on the right road. Happy he came in on his day of to chat. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk |

It was an occupational therapist specializing in hand therapy that I saw. My symptoms were in my thumb, the rest of my hand, and forearm. She used modalities like heat, contrast baths (alternating submerging area in cold and hot water), massage, passive stretching, and passive and active range of motion exercises that I did at home. Since it resulted from surgery, it remained in just that one area.
