So I've been researching Glutathione the last few days, though a few weeks ago is when I really first began to become interested and to look into it. But yesterday I read this piece that Healthgirl posted and thought about getting my hands on it: http://www.hindawi.com/journals/tswj/2013/767482/.
The best one I've so far found is this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...A2TW2XLT5W4EN7 . It's liposomal, which seems effective, though perhaps not as effective as IV, but far cheap despite being quite pricey. The simple oral ones that are not liposomal (Pure Encapsulations makes both forms) seems ineffective. I also came across this PN site, which is interesting and sings the praises of the substance: http://www.immunehealthscience.com/. It might be of interest to some. Any thoughts and knowledge is welcome. I thought I'd start a thread on it, especially for those who need to detox or support immune health. And I know that Madisongrrrl will be getting the IV shortly, so perhaps she can share her experience with us. EDIT: I've since found this one that is cheaper and appears to be pretty much the same, though this is based on the reviews: http://www.amazon.com/Optimized-Lipo...ct_top?ie=UTF8 . I keep hearing about this of late. its pricier than R-Lipoic though. What is the real long and short of the benefits of this? Especially in regards to SFN.

I have been suspecting mold issues for some time and I find this topic to be interesting. I was very allergic as a child and still am. I worked for many years in an old school building that has had numerous water damage. While working there the media center I was located in flooded after a hurricane. Being the school system they contracted the lowest bidder and we still had leaks when I retired 15 years later. There were many books in the media center that had to be tossed because of mildew. One teacher ended up with a serious lung problem from the mold in her room.
I also suspect I have multiple chemical sensitivity which causes me problems when I'm around people who wear perfume, inside cars, popcorn in movie theaters, etc. I have already looked into Gluthathione infusions. Supplementation that would possible work is an interesting alternative.

Pinky, perhaps it's worth looking into this so called master antioxidant. I plan to put it into play very soon, this month for sure, and am really hoping it works. So far any vitamins I've used to help with overall health and the immune system, say B and D vitamins, have been immensely helpful.
From what you write, it sounds like you have good reason to suspect mold. Did you see the mold thread by Healthgirl and the helpful links that Madisongrrl provided? I following, watched and read all that, and learned quite a bit. I am also ordering a few more things and will update on that thread, if you're interested. If you take the glutathione rout, let me know how it goes. Likes I said, Madisongrrl is on that route as per her health teams recommendations. Quote:

Yes, it is pricey indeed. But if it's as useful as touted, then it would be well worth it - the edit link above seemed to be the cheapest, at least as far as I could tell. I mean, it is, but it may not work for some for whatever reason, and it does appear to taste like crap.
Well, the links I provided will provide some useful information and studies, but there are a lot of other things on the web. As you'll see it takes on an executive role in the body, it seems, which involved lots of other important substances, including R-lipoic. I imagine it is immensely useful for those who have PN from immune problems and who are suffering from oxidative stress. Many, if not all, of us are suffering from poorly functioning bodies and it seems glutathione is the most important factor in getting things right. |

I should also say that I use NAC, which is a bioavailable form of one of the three precursors of glutathione, and it has been as close to a miracle supplement or silver bullet as I can identify. I witnessed it work and reduce oxidative stress in my body when I noticed that my shaking or body tremor would dissipate when I would take one at lunch and return at night when I didn't take one, but then went away at night too when I took a second one with dinner. Quite amazing actually!

![]() I take the NAC in the Now brand supplements, which is your typical 600 mg. It also has very little Selenium and Molybdenum. I don't usually take Now since they have additives, this one has stearic and citric acid, but I've not been able to find one that has this combination with nothing added. Basically, this has worked so well, I don't want to change to a pure NAC one. For all I know the other two ingredients, the Selenium and Molybdenum are helping too. And they are useful supplements also. Hope this helps. |

I had two glutathione IV's and was taking oral liposomal glutathione and can tell you the results were NOT GOOD. My legs started feeling weird and I started having trouble walking. I am trying to figure out if it was from detoxing the high lead levels I have or just from the sulfur in the glutathione. I may have a CBS mutation that leads to a build up of sulfur. I am trying to get that figured out now. Just be careful with this stuff until you figure out how you are going to react to it. Start SLOWLY. And yes, it does taste bad, that is from the sulfur.
