In the research I've been reading and the book The Calcium Paradox, it seems like taking D3 and Calcium without K2 may not be a healthy choice. K2 is what takes the calcium and directs it to the teeth and bones rather than to the soft tissues causing a build up in our soft tissues and depositing in our arteries.
One debate is over mk-4 vs. mk-7. It appears they are both important and some newer supplements on the market have both in them. This one on amazon appears to get good reviews. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_s...+k%2Caps%2C158 I thought we have an active Vitamin D thread here and I have not been able to find it. If this has been thoroughly discussed somewhere else, if someone could give me a link, I would really appreciate it. I have to be careful with supplements as my stomach is sensitive. I have no issues with the D3 I am taking, but wondering before I spend more money if K2 is as gentle on digestion. Mrs. D: I would love to hear your thoughts. |

The official D thread:
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...hlight=vitamin This might also be useful - among other things, it links to some sources/studies on MK4 vs 7: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread229410.html Pure Encapsulations has a high quality and complete series of D and K. Quote:

I am unsure about the K2 controversy...still.
Some of the sources I use for supplements, like Linus Pauling Institute remain on the fence about it. So I am still not recommending it. We have a D3 thread on vitamin forum: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread92116.html

I just pulled this up from the Vitamin D Council and read the comments attached to the article. I take K2 daily or every other day. I have slacked off on green veggies except for brocolli and green beans and romaine lettuce, green leafy I've slacked. For more assurance EAT more green leafy veggies: chard, spinach, kale etc.
