So I was reading a little bit about some of the research about IgG and immune deficient people (rather than autoimmune) being more likely to have pain disorders like fibromyalgia and SFN. And then some of the research about bovine colostrum being helpful for this subgroup.
I wonder if this is me...I often feel like my SFN is more viral and my body can't fight it - comes on worse with weakened immune system. When my SFN symptoms came back after a four month regression I was marathon training and my immune system was really down. Got TWO cold sores in one week and then my SFN was back. I also know I have low IGA (the one that can make celiac testing falsely negative.) Not sure if low IGA and low IGG are connected. Anyone know anything about bovine colostrum or immune deficiency and SFN? I've read some convincing testimonials but of course that's not a peer reviewed study. |

I'm also considering bovine bile salts in the future to see if they help with my malabsorption issues. One thing I can say is that Culturelle has helped me some. I have tried several brands and strains of probiotics and I think it's the best. I didn't notice an improvement until I started taking 20 billion cfu's. |

You should be tested for IgG, (including all four subclasses), IgM, IgA and also IgE...to see if you are truly deficient in any or all of these categories. If so, then I think the better course would be to replace them with IVIG...which would be immediately approved if you are shown to be deficient. This will not only help your immune system, but you will get the added benefit of the KNOWN and studied improvement of your SFN with IVIG.

Anyone can run those labs...they are routine type labs PCP's run. If they come back low, then your neuro may want you to consult with a hematologist or immunologist about an immune deficiency. But to just order the labs, anyone can do it. And your neuro needs to have the results as well, because your SFN will benefit from the IVIG for the immune def. (if you have one).

IgG for immune deficiency. She stated that she's low in IgA. If she is low in others (like IgG), than IVIG is the first line treatment for immune deficiency. The IVIG will help any immune deficiency, but also SFN.

What test do you ask for? I want to check my records and see if it was done.

Quantitative immunoglobulins, and IgG subclasses. The subclasses is quite important, because the total IgG may be normal, BUT one or more of the subclasses can be deficient.
