Default My legs are celebrating the fourth...

..forgot my Lyrica yesterday and was reminded last night that this evil entity of PN is still with me! I am fortunate in the respect that Lyrica works well for me , my PN is mainly a nuisance pain ( when I remember to take it ). The more I research the complexities of our nervous system ,I come away very appreciative of the medical professionals who understand and explore it. Having worked in the telecom/data field all my life I have been "stung" many times by DC current . I have to say that those little neurons of ours can really pack a whallop when they decide to gang up on you!

Yeah, every now and then I leave off a dose of something to see if I really need it and POW!, the neuropathy pain comes back. Boy, would I love to be able to get off my fentanyl patch and Lyrica so I that I wouldn't be sleepy all the time and would have a clearer mind and better memory and vision. Those docs that worry about us being drug seekers....ha....I'd love to give them my drugs if I could. But I need to focus on beign grateful that I have them. The pain without them is too much to bear. An attitude of gratitude is what I need to remember.

Cool Smirk Hey Dakota..

..what part of Atlanta are you in? My sister and her hubby just relocated from Acworth to Ft. Meyers. They lived in the Atlanta area for about 15 years. My niece graduated from Kennesaw and is now teaching in Ft. Meyers .So,..sis took a position in Ft. Meyers to be near the new grandbaby.Looks like I'll be doing some Gulf of Mexico fishing as soon as they get settled in!!

I'd love to be able to give up my pain meds....but that's not happening anytime soon. I do hope to trade my Lyrica in for something stronger because it's not working anymore.....or my pain is just getting worse I'm seeing a new Pain Management dr. on Tues. so hopefully he'll have some new ideas for pain meds. Hope everyone had a nice weekend! Roxie

Roxie - ask him/her about the Duragesic Patch or it's generic form which is called Fentanyl Transdermal System which is the same thing only cheaper (but they are still high!).
I've been using these patches for over 5 years and get excellent results without any side effects other than constipation which I manage with OTC stuff from my local drug store. They may not work for you but if they do you will be well pleased....it's worth a try. Good luck.

HI Dan! Thanks for the info about the patch. I'll ask the new pain dr. tomorrow about it. I'm for anything that works to help with this pain! Roxie
