Included in my polyneuropathy package is asthma. This is my 4th nasty occurrence of it since the neuropathy went full blown. I had noticed for years shortness of breath during some types of exercise and in high humidity, but it crept up gradually, as did the nerve pain and other stuff, so I never went to get my breathing listened to.
My primary dr. gave me a ventolin pump and at first I though it didn't work because I would start coughing in about 15 minutes of using it. Apparently that means it is working because its opening me up enough to get something out. I hate to take anything but the labored breathing is making my muscle spasms and dizziness worse and exhausting me. I also got a symbicort inhaler and tried it for the first time today since the other one wasn't doing as much as I thought it should and I am shaking and hot. I am new to asthma and know nothing about how to manage this. Anyone here knowledgeable about this topic? |
