Dear folks,
I've been mentioning this organization and book in specific posts, but it is easier to create this thread. The Dysautonomia Project was formed specifically to educate physicians. Their site is great, with research topics and findings presented in clear and understandable formats. However, they are not a forum. In addition, they have put out a book: The Dysautonomia Project: Understanding Autonomic Nervous System Disorders for Physicians and Patients: available on Amazon. The book is organized by topic, with each left-hand page for patients, and each right-hand page for physicians. It's short, very clear, and helpful. It addresses diagnosis (and misdiagnosis), symptoms, treatments, co-morbidities, and commonly used meds (along with important side effects). Moreover, it includes an extensive list of co-authors and advisors, that may aid readers in finding new knowledgeable physicians (and educating existing ones!). Hopefully this will help those here who have (or think they may have) autonomic small fiber neuropathy. --Sylvie |
