Default Should I take Metanx?

I went to the podiatrist yesterday as part of my exhaustive search to find an answer to what's wrong with me. He gave me samples of Metanx and told me to try them.

I'm already taking:
700 mg Neurontin
5000 IU Vitamin D3
2000 Micrograms Methyl B-12
1000 mg Acetyl L-Carnitine (HCI) with
600 mg Alpha Lipoic Acid
300 mg Benfotiamine
300 mg Omega 3 Fish Oil

Does it make sense to take the Metanx? Has anybody had success with it?

Long story short, I woke up 6 months ago with my feet numb feeling when previous to that I had no symptoms and had never heard of SFN. It progressed to burning while I have shoes on. Pin & Needles feeling on and off. I have had all the blood tests, mri's, EMG/NCS, QSART, and nothing shows anything wrong. Nothing seems to help.

I read a study today that spoke to the reversal of SFN and they referenced Metanx after their listing of the vitamins that were part of the study.

Anyhow, I called my Neurologist today and spoke to the nurse about getting this prescribed... CVS called this afternoon to let me know they received the prescription, but that my insurance won't cover it. All good, I want to get well and will gladly pay to do so. $134 for 60 pills, which is a one month supply.

I will let you know how it works out, but I am excited to try this...and am going to do so with an increased exercise routine.

Note, the large difference Metanx cites is their use of Active Folate, which is prescription only. The other ingredients I believe to be common B6, B12.

Active (methylfolate) is available OTC... Metanx has 2mg which makes it RX because of the dose only.

Metafolin and others can easily be bought online. 800mcg per tablet... you can take 2 if your doctor tells you to.

example:
iHerb.com - Customer Reviews -Solgar, Folate As Metafolin, 8 mcg, 1 Tablets

If anyone decides to use Metanx...do so on an empty stomach.
This manufacturer does not understand the need for oral B12 to be taken away from food and does not put this on its labels.
Most doctors also don't understand that either.

There is a good B complex called B-Right that contains both the active B6 ( called P5P)and methylfolate in it.

Many people over the years including myself use this product with success..It is better than most B-50's and provides active forms of B's in a more modest dosage form, since some people report that high B6 bothers them.
