Default Carbamazepine Causing Constipation

I have been prescribed Carbamazepine 200 MG twice daily for pain resulting from Peripheral Neuropathy (non Diabetic related).

After taking the prescribed dosage for several days with a reduction in pain, especially while sleeping, I have experienced a severe constipation problem.

Anybody else experienced this problem and if so what steps or procedures to eliminate this problem?

I have been told to increase my Magnesium daily intake, use a high fiber supplement daily like Metamucil and eat a high fiber diet.

Done all above with little effect.
