There is a lot of info on those using it, only way to know is give it a good trial. Won't break the bank. I have found my best results with Inosine and Sphingolin which I've posted about many times. And believe the Grape Seed Ex I take for all health helps with this PN also. I've posted a lot about that too.

--you are referring to alpha-lipoic acid, which is certainly used to reduce symptoms of neuropathy, particularly for those whose neuropathy is ischemic in nature (caused by compromise in circulation), such as with diabetes.
There is a lot of literature about it--also about the second generation R-lipoic acid, which is composed of right-handed isomers, which are the ones biochemically active in the body--and it is such that these are actually considered prescription medications in many parts of Europe, though in the US it is available without a prescription as supplement. Just for a start, look at: Alpha-lipoic acid Uses, Side Effects & Warnings - Drugs.com Alpha-Lipoic Acid | Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center https://www.fda.gov/media/116317/download |

It did help my husband's PN. The only way to know is to try it. I think he felt the difference pretty quickly, like within a a couple of weeks.

hello Razzle51, I have had idiopathic PN for over 7 years. During this time my primary symptoms were loss of balance, numbness in feet and fingers and also in arms and legs plus tingling and sunburning in arms and legs with occasional sharp pain in toes. I moved from alpha Lipoic acid to R-Lipoic acid (300mg daily) because I felt that alpha-lipoic acid was not working but neither did R-Lipoic acid. For several weeks I even had IV infusions of alpha-lipoic acid. I never felt a benefit and after 5 years I discontinued this supplement without any effects.
