Most of us with neuropathy suffer from that internal/infernal buzzer. The more I do, the more I buzz. My step-mom asked me if I wanted a vibrating pillow to sit on to help with the sitting pain. I had to politely decline. I have a built in one. So to summarize, ....no we don't think you are crazy. Be sure to tell your neuro about this.

I usually just say, that while my pain doesn't SHOW....it feels as if I've been scalded with boiling water - INSIDE AND OUT! That usually gets the point across.
It IS like noise! I try to think of it as my nerves screaming....either they are dying and scream in the process, or are hurt and crying OW! BIGTIME!, or protesting as they regrow and ask the brain very LOUDLY: OK WHAT DO I DO NOW???? It's like a high-tension-power-lines humm when you are near them. It's with you all of your waking and conscious life. I'm sort of used to it except on my worser days, but I have to tell you - IF it suddenly went away I sure would wonder if I was still alive! I hope this all helps - j |

HI Belinda!
I asked these great people the same question a few months ago. I was buzzing and didn't know why or what it was all about. Now I've come to recognize when it's happening. Sometimes I hurt when I'm buzzing.....sometimes not. I'm sorry you are going through all this PN stuff, but I'm glad you found all of us!

I also know EXACTLY what you mean, I started 'buzzing a few months back' I first noticed it about 2 hours after taking my first ever 2mg of methylcobalamin. Needless to say I didnt take anymore for a while afterwards because the 'buzzing' kept coming and going for weeks after. Then I started taking the methylcobalamin again about 2 weeks ago as ive heard and been advised that it is the No 1 supplement to take for neuorpathy,im taking 5mg a day, still getting weird bouts of 'buzzing' usually throughout my whole body and also on about 3 occasions when im standing it feels like my feet are on a vibrating matt. But one thing I have to say is that in the past 7 days or so I have noticed a marked reduction in the numbness/altered sensations, not sure if I am just having a 'good' few days or whether the methyl b12 really is helping the symptoms (although it seems to be helping mighty fast,as its ive only been taking them for 2 weeks!!) Also for some strange reason my emotions seem to have calmed right down as well and I feel in a better mood.It may just be the placebo effect I guess.....
