I am the new post-er who has talked of my excruciating pain, etc. Yesterday, I got off work and was in very significant pains as I had left my afternoon dose of neurontin at home. Drove home (1 hr, which also makes it worse) and then got a call from my sister who also has this disease, telling me that she did not believe they were going to make their moving deadline...her husband has been doing it all mostly as she can barely walk, much less move them from an upstairs apartment (steep flight) to a downstairs. So I tell her I am coming to help with my daughter in law (thinking, dear God, how am I going to be a help of any sort in this condition). She is adamant that I will be able to help and I am just as determined that I will.
I want everyone to know God must have intervened, either on my behalf or hers, because I made more than twelve trips (24 if you count both ways) up and down those stairs carrying things....cleaned her bathroom from top to bottom, worked in the kitchen, and then helped unpack things. Worked until 1:30 this a.m. and then got up at 6:30 to come to my real job! The most astounding thing....I have not had one twinge of pain since I began all the activity........first time in months i have been 100% pain free (yes, I am waiting for the onslaught). GO FIGURE!! |

You re-directed the pain signals in your brain. You created endorphins. They over-rided any pain sensations.
You kept yourself busy all day long. Moving your body was the best thing you could have done. That is good news, believe me!!! Melody
