Magnets worked the best for me, i made up 2 patches with 4 strong magnets in each, magnets placed down on the tops of my feet in opposite poles [ so they don't slam together ] taped them on with strapping tape and left on for about 3 months straight 24/7, only took them off for bathing.
They give me a lot of burning relief, although i can't prove it, i am certain they played a good part in helping my small nerve's repair, as at the end of that 3 months trial my burning was a lot less, but my nerve's were not being attacked anymore as i had my prediabetic state way under control. Before that, i used a device like a small TENS machine that definatly did help whilst using it and give relief for some time after as well, but i wasn't satisfied with that at the time, that is why i thought of magnets left on all the time, giving permanant increased blood circlation and all the goodies that come with that. ![]() I tried the magnets on the soles of my feet first, with foam padding and all that jazz which did not do a thing, i only benefited with them on the tops of my feet only. my 2 cents worth ![]() Brian ![]() |

BTW, supplemental magnesium with an absorbable formulation that includes calcium and vitamin D is healing and calming to the entire nervous system. MrsD has a great posting on just that subject. As a general principle, take enough to do good, but no more. Even herbs and supplements can have detrimental side effects or overdose affects. Too much magnesium/calcium can contribute to kidney stones, which are no joke. If you think your pain is bad now, passing a kidney stone is worse. My boss passed out cold from that pain while talking with me!

Please understand that the Rebuilder is only part of what I do, so it's hard to ascribe getting better to one thing only. We are a unified whole. See my post in the stickies section: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...p?t=177&page=2 , items 18, 19, and 20. What works for my idiopathic small fiber polyneuropathy may not help you, but nothing in the program will hurt you. You'll have to figure it out for yourself. My goal is to give a starting point and framework for that process. With your courage and attitude, you'll deal with this powerfully and effectively, but keep an open mind. Living happily with PN, and/or healing might require changes in your life, self image, and ways of reacting to the world in unexpected ways. For example, for me it was critical to get rid of my chronic low level anger and short temper. PN can be a gift and a teacher in unexpected ways...it gave me my son and wife who were getting more and more alienated from me the way I was before having PN. What a cliche that is, turning lemons into lemonade, but sometimes that's what's needed. I'm much happier now than when the PN started, and a big part in that is what I had to learn and how I had to change to deal with the PN.

There are many ways to deal with PN and sooner or later most sufferers build their own personal, "tool box" of helpful items. Personally, I am currently battling a terrible flare so I will keep this short. But individual counseling is something I have begun to help me identify those things that are the "stressors" that contribute to my pain. And boy, do I have a lot of stress that needs to go away and therefore, a lot of work ahead.
Hope everyone has a pain free Sunday, Nancy |

John used the Rebuilder starting in 2003. It reduced his pain level quite a bit and helped his flexibility also. He too has developed a personalized program over the years that has many elements to it. He hasn't used the Rebuilder for about a year now because it bothers his knee....he has pins in his knee to repair a quad tendon rupture and the rebuilder tends to make it ache. He probably just needs to reduce the length of time he's in it.
His pain did not rise after he stopped using it....so that's good. Since this May, I've been doing very gentle reflexology on his feet. It has really helped him. BTW....our docs said that if his PN did not clear up within 12 -18 months after the onset, it would never get any better or go away. Well, John continues to improve so never let a prognosis get in your way of healing You truely have to have to find the right combo of things that work for you. One size does not fit all. Marlene |

Hi I posted this on another thread but just in case you miss it, this is my experience with the rebuilder
I bought the rebuilder in September and used it twice a day - the dry method as i didnt like the fuss of using water - at first I set it too high and felt my nerves were frazzled - the pain was awful! I contacted the on-line support and the girl said I needed to reduce the setting that I had overworked my nerves so wait a few days before using again - I put the setting at 2 and continued twice a day and felt great improvement - the soles of my feel felt like lumps of flesh that werent connected to the rest of my body, a strange feeling but I was euphoric(an end to this nightmare was in sight) - after a few weeks my pain levels got really bad again and after consulting my GP i stopped using this - but by now it was winter and we have seen the worst snow that I can remember and I dont know if anyone else notices the cold weather increases their pain? I have recently started to use the Rebuilder again and get total pain relief while it is on and the pain then gradually builds up again - i am in two minds about whether it is working or not so would not recommend anyone rushes to buy it at that price but i will keep you posted on my progress with it - hopefully by the end of this year I will be evangellical about it as I will be cured - I am known as the eternal optimist! Sorry I couldnt say it is agreat cure also like you I decided not to take meds but over time I have had to and now feel like a drug addict - I can now tell the time by my pain levels rather than a watch and know when my meds are due - you do what you need to to get by - good luck |

Some say it helps, many don't.
The 'reports' & 'studies' are all produced by the Rebuilder sales-pitch team. There are no real clinical studies. But it can work for some, ya jes gotta try it & see if it works for you. The price is high, but somehow they seem to be able to get Medicare/Medicaid to pay for it, if yer doc will Rx it for you. They'll yell you how. But the outfit is a 'snake oil' sales operation. Very New York, fast-talking, street-corner, bogus Rolex watch - sales mentality.
