Hi all,
I've been lurking. Live has been busy. We are moving this weekend. ![]() Daughter #2 and Granddaughter are moving into their own apartment. ![]() I am exhausted with the packing and filtering of all the things. I've decided to really streamline my life and get rid of a lot of unnecessary things. I know I had planned to get disability, but with my daughters situation, and my inability to find a place to live due to my bad credit, I decided to collect unemployment for a year and rent a room from a friend. The fear of having NO income, losing my car, and having no place to live was just too overwhelming. I couldn't "choose" to become a homeless person. That was just too drastic. I have one year of unemployment coming, so I chose to collect that while I work on trying to get my PN under control and my stress back to a manageable level. I have a lot of unpaid bills still looming over my head from the divorce and I need to get them paid off before I can get an apartment. My credit is ruined and I have to fix that problem first. By renting a room, I can keep my car, focus on my health, and get my stress under control. However, after December I will no longer have Health Insurance. In January I plan to return to work and if I can not keep up, then I will deal with it then. ![]() I can't imagine being a homeless person with PN. I have to be able to provide myself with a place to live, then from that point forward I will deal with the other issues. I'll check back in a few days after the move to see how everyone is doing. Hugs to you all! Terri |

Hello Terri,
I'm sorry to hear about all the problems you are facing. I wish that you lived closer to me so that we could support one another in terms of our condition. Please try for SSI as I did and received approval the first time around. I will say a prayer for you. Marse |

Hi Terri:
Oops, just reread. I understand now. Anyway, sounds like you have your hands full. We will all be thinking about you while you are undergoing this transition. Good luck. Cathie |

Hi Seams:
Wow, you certainly have a lot of stuff going on in your life, don't you!!! About your daughter. You are making the right call. Nothing you can do about it. It is totally up to her. And if you make it YOUR problem, your PN will flare. Believe me, I speak from experience. We gals, moms, whatever we are.....well, we have to focus on our health because no one else is going to do this. So rent the room (good move on your part), let go of your daughter's drug problem (you can't do a darn thing about this can you?), and put all your efforts on thinking about what can de-stress you. I like to just take long walks (did this yesterday) and I noticed all the beautiful flowers, daisies, all the beautiful scenery and trees that are abundant this time of year. I just drank it all in and appreciated all of it. Then I told myself "okay, you are having a good day, tomorrow morning when Alan gets off of work, you'll meet up at Dunkin Donuts. You'll be dressed in a nice pretty skirt and blouse and put on your makeup". Talking to myself like that de-stresses me. So you'll never believe what happened this morning when I got all dressed up and met up with him at Dunkin!!!! Alan is a nighttime security guard at a condominum construction site in New York City. You would think that for what they pay him, it would be a pretty boring job right?? Don't think so!!! He meets up with me, we sit down and he goes. "I showed up at work at midnight, went up to the second floor bathroom (the condominiums are almost finished), he goes to check each floor. He walked into the bathroom and there was a body on the floor. Alan checks for the pulse, and he's going "buddy, buddy are you alright??" No response. Alan calls the police, they show up, turns out the guy was dead drunk and they hauled him off". They they let him go, and two hours later, he breaks back in. Alan caught him. I'm listening to this and I'm trying not to get stressed and I'm trying to enjoy my Dunkin Donuts Coffee but all I'm imagining is guys are breaking in to the place where my husband is a security guard and this is happening all night long. So I can't even have a stupid cup of coffee with Alan without him telling me he's catching burglars in the middle of the night. I told him "what's going to happen tonight??" He goes "if the guy comes back, I'll be ready for him." I said 'Alan, they don't pay you enough money to catch burglars and robbers. He thinks he's Rocky and he says 'I can take care of myself" All this, and he has a foot ulcer and he's wearing the cam-walker. I told him "hit him in the nuts with your cam walker shot boot". He said "you know that's not a bad idea". oh my god. So you take care and don't stress. There's plenty of that to go around. lol Melody
