Mrs. D.

Your best place to view any of your transaction, is the MY EBAY page. On the left of the MY EBAY page, you will see all kinds of links. This is what is on the left of the MY Ebay page:

All Buying

Watching
Bidding
Bid Assistant
Best Offer
Won
Didn't Win

Now you click on the link "won".

Your screen will move to another screen and there you will see the info on your Dutch Oven

Here's how the columns should look:

Seller ID // Qty // Total Price // Sale Date // Purchased On // Action

Underneath these columns should be the complete description of your item

Underneath this, on the left side you will see the word REMOVE. This is the way you can delete all this information. But I wouldnt do this until you get your item, you are satisfied with the delivery and the item has been tried and works fine. Then you proceed to the next step. Leaving feedback.

All the way to the right by the Action column is where you can leave feedback. DO NOT LEAVE FEEDBACK until you have received your item.

He can leave you feedback if he wishes because you have paid him. But honestly, people don't leave feedback until the SALE IS COMPLETE, and it's not complete until YOU RECEIVE YOUR ITEM.

Also, I give you credit that you feel comfortable enough to go to a strangers home and pick up an item. I know that many people do this on ebay. They don't have to pay shipping and handling if they go and pick it up.

I would not do this. I don't trust strangers. This is simply how I think. When I have purchased something on ebay, I'd rather pay shipping and handling and have them mail me the item. I have also sold items on ebay and I have had people say "Oh, I live in New Jersey, and I'll be in Brooklyn, next week, can I come over and pick up the book (I was selling books at the time).

I said (very nicely), "Unfortunately, while many ebayers do offer this method during the auctioning of their items, I do not". They always say "oh, no problem, here's $4 for shipping and handling" The next day, I walk to the post office and mail it off.

But I realize that this is how we think in New York. This is not how residents of other states do it. They are more friendly and more trustworthy than we New Yorkers are. I just have seen too many people mugged and jumped (myself included) so I don't trust anyone I don't know.

By the way, you got a good deal for the Dutch Oven. Really cool.
I have purchased most of the items I need, right on Ebay. For instance, I have satellite tv, with 3 boxes going into a multi-switch. After a few years, you have to replace the multi-switch. Radio Shack sells it for $39.99. I got it off ebay for $5.99.

You can't beat that, now can you. I also got a BIG George foreman Grill for $9.99. Brand new. I got 30 cans of Jerome Russell Spray on Hair (I have very thin hair and wanted to cover my bald spots). These cans sell for $9.99 each at my local store. I paid $19.99 for 30 cans on Ebay. All brand new and sealed. Can you beat that value??

So for me Ebay has been a little source of income and a great buying value. I mean, where can you get 30 cans of Spray on Hair for $19.99???

lol

Wink yes, Mel...

I do click on MyEbay to see that screen. I just call it a log..because it keeps track of what I did.

This seller didn't offer... I emailed her to ask.

Where I live here in the midwest... this is just like going to a garage sale,
for me. It is a dutch oven... she has a good rating at Ebay and the items seem small and feminine. I don't think she plans to do much to me for $12.00! She knows who I am and sees my address, and my major worry would be she would try to sell me something else! LOL

I think your situation in NY is much different. I am very careful with people and a good reader of character...it would be hard to get any jump on me.
I have been told that I am pretty formidable, as well! I am tall and very muscular and according to my husband --have an "air of authority"!
I've dealt with alot of crime in my job...some pretty scary dudes!

The propane refrigerator (used) we saw, is in a farther town, away, 3-4 hrs, and this is a male seller who says, ONLY pick up. That one I am planning on taking my husband with me for. I don't think this guy knows much about propane frigs. He bought a camper and does not want this that came with it. I've sent him another email. If no one bids on it (and may not get any bids because of the rarity of it etc)..I offered to come to his place and check it out personally and if we decide it is good and will work (this is the kicker) then we may buy it that way. It is like answering an ad in the paper. (he lives in a rural part of the state that is well known for being light in crime). My husband's good friend lives in that city and we could even pick up her husband and make it a threesome. This is a very very long shot. Getting a propane 1/2 trailer size frig for 19.99 would be coup for us. They are very hard to find and afford.

I understand your concern. And most of the time I would not go in person.
I've been to NY many times, and after 4 days, I have to say I am more than ready to come home! It is very stressful there, and busy and so many lives moving everywhere all the time.

Talking L O L

I don't think it has to do with weight.... but MUSCLE...and I look very strong.
Also I get stopped while shopping all the time, by other customers who think I work there (even when I had my baby with me)... asking me where is this where is that, and other questions. Because I look and act determined and secure.

Once a garden person refused to tell me how much his plants were (at a farmer's market) saying he doesn't quote his prices to competitors! I just wanted that flat for my garden! I went back to my husband and told him and he said "SEE...your air of authority" ....LOL

When I was in art school (in a very nasty neighborhood), one day I found a guy trying to break into my locker. I walked up to him and told him what for...and he kept at it. So I called the campus police from the office and they came, and he was still at it. When I showed them to what was going on...they were amazed that I had approached him... they told me -- "not a good idea"... They took him in.

I can be that way when I need to be...it comes from protecting myself when I was younger from the abuse I had to live with. Some things you let go, others you can with attitude prevent. I have missed several crimes by hairs, by making eye contact and holding my ground and looking like I could be a "problem"...and the police come and get the crumbs...and take them away.
So I don't tend to fear simple things much. Any really dangerous thing, I would be very different. I thwarted a narcotics theft in my old job 3 yrs ago... and all went well, and the guy went to jail, and rehab. He had hit other places before me successfully, but the buck stopped with me. Now that I am older, I tend to want to avoid this as much as possible, and that altercation, along with one other there, was instrumental in my deciding to leave that place. Getting too dangerous!
