I am another one of the ideopathic burning feet sufferers, and have been taking Gabapentin for over 2 years. Over that time I have had to increase the dose to 1800mg 10 months ago. We think I am suffering from constipation and IBS-C like symptoms because it seem to coincide with my Gabapentin reached around 1500mg and seemed to get worse when I hit 1800mg.
In an attempt to lessen this my pain doc switched me to Gralise. I will treat any difficult burning feet episodes with Lidocaine patches. After 3 days on Gralise 1500mg followed by 3 days of 1200mg I seem to still have the constipation/IBS symptoms. At least I can report the Lidocaine patches are helping to offset. Assuming this approach might work, how quickly do you think I might begin seeing results: days, weeks or longer? Do you think I will need to drop further on Gralise? I am willing to drop to 900mg Gralise if the Lidocaine patches hold me. |
