I went back to Hopkins today, to get some follow up testing
(it's been a few years since I was there) and they set me up for a nerve conduction test on the 26th. It turns out that my next-door neighbor (who always asks if there's extra for him, when I cook on the patio grill) is the tech who does the NCT !! I knew he worked @ JHH, but this was a surprise. (no more baby-back ribs for him, if he hurts me !! ) ![]() ![]() ![]()

I guess you'd better be super nice to him until??? But, not too super nice?
We all know honey goes further than vinegar...but don't lay it on too thick. Maybe gourmet burgers? I mean Vidalias are in season and they can do wonders to any meats.... I would say something like: OUCHIE! Except that during my tests they had to wake me up from the last ones? Didn't feel a THING! Good/bad news there folks. Happy testing? - j |

By the way Bob. Do you know of anyone who has been to JH and seen Dr. Birnbaum? If so, has anyone commented on the experience?
If you recall, he is the doc who is a Rheumatologist, but who is interested in the neurological problems in autoimmune disease. Cathie |

Not yet, Catjie.
I emailed him, and he said that I should re-contact him after my GTT results are in.

In any case I wanted to ask you about your experiece with Hopkins in general. I'm being referred by my neurologist at UCLA to one of his colleagues, Dr. David Cornblath, at Hopkins. I'm dealing with a pretty much full-body small fiber neurpathy which came on after a surgery (some RSD concerns in there too). What I want to know, is Dr. Kornlath the best guy to see there, and, conversely, if a referral for an appoointment with him takes an exceedingly long time, who else would you recommend seeing. Thanks in advance for any reply. |

Dr Cornblath at Hopkins. I have been seeing him 2x a year since 2000. I like him. He is kind of a typical stuffed shirt Hopkins doctor ...all business. He has my neuropathy controlled without pain and with as little medicine as possible. I think he is worth the wait. it is funny, though, I was having a nct and the person doing the teat asked me what state I was from. he said that most of Dr. Cornblath's patients are from out of state.
