Hi all
I am looking for a physician in Arizona, preferably Phoenix, who specializes in Peripheral neuropathy and who will take me seriously. I was in an auto accident four years ago and subsequently developed cervical dystonia (possibly secondary to the accident). Now for the last year I have had burning feet, legs, hands and upper arms...at times these areas feel like they are burning terribly but when felt they are cold. I saw a local neurologist (Prescott, arizona) and he said it was hyperventilating...NO My primary care did order a bunch of tests...4 hour glucose tolerance, heavy metals, B12, etc. all okay. Then had EMG and NCV negative. Thought possibly small fiber neuropathy by my primary care. Also had brain MRI and Cervical MRI after accident (showed bulging cervical discs and many spurs). The brain MRI was normal (my husband would never believe THAT). Anyhow my Movement Disorder Specialist who does my Botox injections for my dystonia "shined me on" and wouldnt even feel my freezing upper arms while the rest of the arm was normal. He said probably hormones and to have my estrogen checked. I have been menopausal for 10 years and doing just fine. He was so busy "showing off" to his medical students. I am really "******" at the lack of empathy and basically being written off by two neurologists. So I am asking for anybody who is seeing someone in Arizona for their neuropathy. Thanking in advance. |
