Does anyone have any experience with anodyne treatments? I was showing the system to my husband and he said he could build one for me...

Maybe you can try it at pt place? I was reading about it and it helps with balance they say? It is used for people with diabetitic neuropathy. What does your husband do that he could build you one? This seems like something Melody or her husband may have tried. If you do a search may be more opinions or results would come up. Is there a diabetes area on these boards? There should be maybe cause there are a lot of suffers.

Thanks Mel- it looks like several folks have given it a try and had some good results. My husband works on the avionics equipment on aircraft so he's pretty swift with electrical stuff. He fixes everything around here that breaks. I finally had to just throw the blowdyer away at work to keep him from fixing it again...I was about 15 years old... He ordered the parts so if he gets it put together and working I'll post back. |

I purchased the Anodyne Therapy. You can rent it for two months to see
if it helps. I has not helped my balance. That is my main problem. Since taking four bad falls, I always use a walker. I use the A. therapy several times a week. I have burning feet (only when upright) and the tight glove feel but not in real pain (thankfully!!). Somehow, I can't remember how bad my PN was to justify purchasing the unit. I have delt with PN for several years but only diagnosed about a year ago. I go to a neurologist who specialises in neuropathy. She has told me there is nothing to be done for the balance problem other than physical therapy, to learn to compensate. I feel so blessed when I read posts that describe the awful pain others have. Also, when I go to physical therapy I see burn patients , the very worse thing that can happen to you. So hugs to my fellow travelers who are having to deal with the pain of PN. I truly feel for you!! ![]() |

I just got the results back on diabetes. My number on the 2 hr GTT was 85 so I don't have diabetes. I am really looking at the anodyne machine for my mom-in-law. She has diabetes and although never diagnosed with PN the description of her pain is the same as mine. We have her an appt. with a neuro and I'm sure at some point she'll get the take the anodyne therapy but we were hoping to get a jump on it as her legs have really deterioated to the point where she will just barely walk around. She rides her scooter everywhere, even from the bathroom to the bedroom, etc. I hope that some of the damage and her pain can be reduced. |
