Leslie:

Your neighbor took up DRUMMING???

Don't want to hijack this thread but god bless You. I know NOISE!! I used to have teenagers living on top of me, and next door (we share a wall).

Well, I almost went out of my mind.

I'm a good neighbor but I will never forget when it was 2 a.m. and the stereo speakers were blasting next door, I walked to my backyard, looked into his window and there he was (all of 14 years old), and he couldn't give a fig about anyone's peace.

He is now in jail by the way.

I had to learn to ADAPT to noise.

What did I do?? I bought those silicon ear plugs.

They are amazing. These are not foamy things. These are silicon noise reducers and I take one, take a bit off, take another one, take a bit off, so I then have two perfect fitting ones for my ears.

I roll then into a funnel, I put then in my ears and I flatten the end part. You are not supposed to do it this way but it's the only way to block sound. It works like a charm.

I've been going to sleep this way FOR YEARS now. Every single night. I don't hear the air conditioner, I don't hear Alan when he clogs ito the bedroom wearing his CROW boot.

I don't hear anything. I go to sleep. I wake up, pull them out and that's it.

I use them over and over and when they get a bit off color (probably from the natural wax inside my ear), well I just make two more.

Never had a problem doing this.

I believe I read that the correct way to use them is to push them gently in but NOT ALL THE WAY.

You have to figure out the right way that works for YOU.

I do know one thing. I wouldn't be without these if you gave me money.

I get my sleep and I block out all sound.

If Alan needs me, well, he'll shake me and I'll wake up, but so far, that's never happened.

I have neighbors in the backyard who sit underneath my bedroom window till all hours and they YELL when they talk. They can do this till midnight.

Imagine trying to go to sleep at 11 p.m .with people yelling under your window.

So give this some thought.

I know me, if I had a neighbor who drummed next door to me.

HE'D BE A DEAD NEIGHBOR.. lol

And kmeb:
Sorry to hijack.
