Oh, I love you Mrs. D.
Alan actually told me "change your picture on the neuropathy boards" and I said "why on earth should I, I think I look perfectly fine" and he goes. "It doesn't look like you anymore". I must be blind as a bat because I don't see anything different. Mel

Your wife is a honey, and I don't know if anyone told you but you look exactly like John Ingle who plays Edward Quartermain on General Hospital.
Quite dashing my young man. Regards. Melody

Thank you Mrs. D. I actually look (not half bad) for a 59 year old broad from Brooklyn.
I also saved Alan's muscleman picture and put it in as my profile picture. I wish I could do the stuff you guys can do on a computer. I mean, I know how to operate a computer, and download and drag and drop and do really benign stuff but I don't have photoshop and for the life of me, I couldn't know how to resize anything or do pixel stuff. But I'll learn, I'll learn. Much appreciated. Melody P.S. And for all you computer people out there who love puzzles, and like to find out how stuff is done on a computer, boy do I have a treat for you. Click on this link. When the lady is falling, and she gets stuck on the balls, or between them, take your mouse, hold down left mouse button, and drag and drop the lady between the balls.(Don't ask, just go there and do it, absolutely amazing) http://people.freenet.de/crossroads/tetka.swf

Melody! Beautiful!
And the avatar really works on this board! It does not take much computer smarts, just a program to work in. I use Paint Shop Pro 9. Any good program will do it. There are even some free ones. Paint.net is one. Somewhere here, I think on "computers" is a free link to a photo program. It might be at OBT. There was at one time a free sticky on all the places. http://www.getpaint.net/ Here is the link to Paint.net. Some older computers may have to download a "fix" from Microsoft before it takes. A friend of mine had to do that. The website now has it clearly marked at the download spot...which was NOT there a year or so ago! You really do look stunning on your avatar here! REALLY... P.S. there is an advertisement at that link above.... that has Paint Shop Pro 8 (which came as shareware with my computer here) and it has really come down in price. The 8 version is less spiffy less professional, but easy to use and lots of fun. At $25 it is alot for your money. The 8 version does not need high RAM like the 9 does either. Paint shop Pro 9 is a bit hard for me to handle with all the "layers" and all! The Adobe Elements looks good too... so check those out. http://www.clickcooldeals.com/show_c...?category_id=9

For me, when I turn 60 next year, I'm gonna be a blond!!! Alan thinks I have lost my marbles. Me? I think I finally found them!!! lol

Now let me ask you something. Is this the same as the PAINT thing on my computer? You know, when you go Programs - Accessories - then PAINT.
I clicked on PAINT and it doesn't look anything like the Paint.net thing I just downloaded. I have absolutely no idea what I'll do with this Paint.net thing but I'll do with Paint.net exactly what I did when I got my first microwave oven (when I first married Alan 26 years ago). We bought the microwave, took it home, plugged it in, stared at it for five hours. Then Alan said "now what?" I said "well, let's start with a baked potato". I baked the potato and Alan said "wow, a $150 baked potato, what else does it do"??? So fast forward, I shall look at this paint.net thing, take a tutorial and MAKE A LOT OF BAKED POTATOES!!!!! lol

comes from Microsoft with windows... it is very basic.
The Paint.net place is a more complete graphics program, designed by some students at a university, using the Windows basic concept, of Paint. They posted it on the net for free (like Firefox is) when the program was done. And now there are even upgrades for it. Basically for photos you want to manipulate pixels, to retouch, or to resize, etc. Resizing is what I did for yours, so they would fit here. I retouched your old avatar alot, to remove distortions and make it clearer. That is a bit more complex, but at 80 x 80 pixels, there are not that many. It does require a color educated eye tho. My art training does come in handy sometimes. I did not need to retouch your photo for here, the new one. It looked pretty good(technically) as is...no distortions. It took about 10 seconds! Don't ask me how long the previous one took! Duh! But many of the newer programs, have a one touch photo enhancement button, which cleans up photos with ONE click! The second one of Alan I sent you was done that way.
