Hi everyone -
I am hoping that you can make a suggestion to help stop (or atleast decrease my sweating). Since developing PN I sweat profusely on my face and head. While getting ready to go to work or any type of activity for that matter, my face and head sweat horribly. My hair is always damp to the point that I don't bother trying to style or fix it anymore 'cause it won't stay. Right now I am taking lyrica, amitryptyline and tramadol (as needed) and the recommended supplements. Could the meds be causing this? Also, I am 50 so maybe the pre-menapause has some part to play... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I am tired of my makeup running down my face every morning!! |

is connected to insulin actions.
Sugar and caffeine used to make me sweat terribly. I still sweat when I am doing exercise. Diabetics sweat after eating..this is called gustatory sweating. If yours is after your breakfast, try a high protein one with no caffeine or sugar, and see what happens. I also sweat after a hot shower or hot bath. When I started r-lipoic acid and 400mcg of chromium, the sweating really went down. Since cutting out all sugar I have noticed a HUGE change in myself. Another trigger for sweating is NSAIDs or aspirin. If I am having an arthritis flare--and take Aleve, I will sweat more. I think much of the sweating during and after menopause just happens to coincide with insulin problems, timing. I think the tramadol is the worst offender for your sweating. It works on mu receptors, like opiates, and opiates also cause huge sweating issues for some.
