Most of the birth control pills contain synthetic progestins, which some women don't tolerate well.
If you search some of the different brands, there are stories on all of them, that negatively affected somebody. Some don't have any estrogen: Micronor Some don't have the standard progestin... Yazmin and Yaz are different in this respect. Some are cyclic like TriCyclen. Different hormones in each week. There are so many to choose from. This you have to discuss with your doctor. There is even the IUD Mirena with ultra low dose progestin.

Funny, I've been thinking about the same topic lately. I have a 3-month supply of the generic of Micronor sitting around but I'm scared to pump any hormones into me while I don't know what's going on with my PN.
I've been considering the Paragard since it doesn't have any hormones. But then my dh scares me about the side effects so I'm left at square one. ![]() |
