I have been trolling through these forums for a couple of days now searching for some more ideas.
I am coping with it & have no pain or burning as I did initially. I believe this to be a result of Methyl B-12. Why, because that is the only changes I have made. My question is what would else may help "my" problem? |

How long have you been on the B12?
So if you don't have pain, or burning, what you are left with is only numbness? Do you have weakness? How long have you had this? Have you been tested for MS? Had a brain MRI?

I'd have to look back through my notes to get acurate dates.
My memory isn't that great, another problem. It's pretty much all in my 1st thread anyway. About 8 Months on the B12. No weakness associated with the problem, yet. 1st PN symptom about 2 yrs. No sign of MS. No-one has looked at my brain yet, but I've allways known there was something wrong with that. |

If you were severely low in B12... 8 months may not be enough
for a good improvement. Rose who posts here occasionally now, took years to improve in symptoms. If your symptoms are spreading inspite of using B12, that indicates you may have more than one thing going on. A brain MRI will show lesions, in patients with MS. When you describe numbness, is it totally numbness like when one gets a lidocaine shot? Or is it a strange feeling just in the skin? Can you feel light touch? Can you feel hot/cold when you touch them? People can be low in B12 and have other disorders in addition, and this might be true for you.

Thank you for your replies I do appreciate it.
Regarding the MRI, I will discuss this with my doctor. In this country, everything has to go through these guys, unless you want to pay for it all yourself. The numbness is best described as a strange feeling in the skin. Some areas are hyper sensitive. I can feel light touch & can sense temperature change. I have no trouble sleeping. When I wake in bed, nothing feels wrong until I move. Then my right foot & hand stand out as being different. |
