Yesterday I was watching Ripley's Believe It or Not and they had a segment on using bee stings as therapy for the nerve damage of MS with really dramatic positive results. Did anyone else see it? If so, what do you think of it? I'm not going to rush out and get bee stings, just for my part of it. It was interesting, though.

The concept is to give the immune system something to do...
deal with the venom. This is an old idea. Unfortunately, some people may develop a severe allergy to the venom, from that exposure. I wouldn't do it for PN...I think it is risky business.

I wasn't considering it for myself. I hate bee stings and I swell horribly, but I just wondered if anyone here had heard of it before.

The therapy has been around for quite some time for various ailments, the link to using it for MS is something that has developed in the past 5 years, or so.
Its risky because of the danger of allergic reactions from multiple stings over time.
