Question Doxylamine succinate

I have been taking this 25 mg OTC sleep med, accompanied by 2 valerian tablets at night to assist with sleep. The doxylamine succinate is basically an antihistamine.

I'm trying to stay off the stronger sleep meds as a long term solution to my problem.

My question is, can anyone tell me if long term use of this antihistamine poses any significant problem? Or is this a relatively harmless drug?

I try to skip a day here and there, but it's easy to get without a script and it's also inexpensive.

Thank you-
