Dr. Gil Wolfe at university of Texas, SW Center is the neuro that I saw who pretty well told me he didn't know what was wrong with me or what to do for me. I went back one more time for an EMG that he was supposed to give me. His associate did it. And I wasn't told anything until a few days later. I"m not going back, unless Mayo sends me to him for some reason.

The author missed many possible causes for PN, but the discussion of the nature of neuropathic pain and possible drug treatments are right on. Too few doctors consider a multidrug approach.
The article didn't discuss non-drug pain relieving intervention except for the use of capsaicin for diabetic pain. Capsaicin was several hours total hell for me and most of the forum members who tried it. I hope that as either this forum takes off, or BT comes back up, members become more aware of all the effective non-drug interventions. I posted a lot on the subject. Several were in the "Sticky:" section and I don't have copies. I don't trust John anymore. If the HastyPasty site comes back up, besides us taking the initiative to get our own bulletin board, I'll be sure keep a copy of the entire "Sticky:" section.

I kept copies of several articles I'm posting that probably need to be part of the stickies. But I'll let you all judge.

Here is a site explaining the different kinds of PN. Perhaps it is of some help and maybe it's been seen before.
