I have used a meditative form of self-hypnoses, at times of stress and over exertion, to help regulate my rhythms and get me back to a resting state which, in turn, helps with pain control.
But I rely primarily on meds for 24/7 control of symptoms & pain,
on a regular basis.

Default Meds

I take Neurontin, 600 mg three times a day, morning, noon, and night. I take Metanx with my mornig Neurontin, and I take Nortriptyline HCL 25 mg at night with my Neurontin. I also take 1000 mg of Tylenol as needed to help with the other pain meds. If I am extremely agitated, I will also take a .5 mg Alprazolam (xanax) just to get rid of the anxiety. Thanks for the inquiry.

I am not sure if you are able to finance wise but could you try alternative methods? Before my rsd and pn I had severe anxiety and before I went to a psych 4 months ago again I really should of been in a psych ward. I was loosing my mind. Through the past 2 plus years of this my mom was pushing me to go back to a psych because of my mental state and I just felt if someone could fix my pain I would mentally be better.Well that was not happening even with the best specialist and treatments. So I finally went back and got on meds for the mental and let me tell you there is a huge difference. I am still anxious but no where near and I also have a better outlook even on my crying pain days and the fears around my health are better as well. So I really encourage people to have some kind of mental treatment. It won't take away the physical but does help with coping with it. Even my pain doc siad one can't be in pain for so long and it not effect you mentally.

Default Alternative medicine

Sorry for the extended "vacation" Ha! Went into the hospital to have a biopsy done on a growth in the sinus chamber over my right eye. Turned out benign, thank God. It was a return engagement. Had the darn thing seven years ago, and had it removed through the nose via endoscopy surgery. This time, the docs wanted to do a biopsy because of the blood cancer situation. Still turned out benign, again thank God. Have now just yesterday started Rinuxin treatment for the Waldenstroms Syndrome. Supposed to take only 4 treatments to bring down the bad protein count to below 400. Supposed to be 350 or so under normal conditions. Hopefully, when the Waldenstroms is under control, or even hopefully GONE, the PN will follow suit.
As to the question on Tylenol, yes I do take two 500 mg extra strength capsules at one time. Sometimes as much as 3 times a day. That is why I am soooo hopeful that the Rituxan will react in a hurry. The PN pain in my hands is progressing at a rapid pace, and it's getting scary. I am to the point that I have to start my car with my left hand, as there is too much pain , and too little muscle control in my right hand to actuate the start position on the key switch. I am looking into having a "remote start" switch incorporated in the key fob so that I can start the car with the push of a button instead of the normal way of twisting the key switch. I have seen some in the neighborhood that have that function as a part of the original purchase of the car. But, I am told that it can be added easily. We'll see.
Again, sorry for the delay.....
