Tripping over those things coming down the stairs, he may well have!

When ours was a puppy, he tried to hump my wife's leg. Her instinctive response was no scold, "NO!" and shake him off, but he was light, and his grip wasn't very good. He flew across the kitchen, landed softly on the floor, and slid off the step into the family room. He picked himself up, shook himself off, and trotted into his crate. Never humped another leg.... ever.
