This is a very funny compilation of surprise videos and scaredy cats. All of us with kitties know about this surprise reaction commonly.

Our Maya is like this more than our other past cats have been.
Her latest scaredy attack was with her water bottle dispenser.
She has since being a little kitten attacked the water dispenser and bam bam bam... boxes with both her paws to make the water come out. We have been unsure if this is a fear thing or a play thing. Well when we filled up the back porch dispenser when the weather warmed up, she did her bam bam thing, and it glugged and spit a drop out which hit her in the face. The reaction to this was just as funny as these videos! She ran around at super speed for about 3 minutes and finally went into the basement! It happened so fast, I couldn't even think of photographing it! But it was hysterically amusing!

Those were so funny. My cats startle like those cats sometimes....especially Panda. She can be walking by and if you move your feet even a little she will jump straight up. It's hard not to do it on purpose when she's walking by but I restrain myself.

My 17 y.o. cat often has similar moments of madness - I wonder if she is channeling her kittenhood.

Sometimes she will climb the curtains. When that happens I have to be very careful not to laugh - if I do she will glare at me and stomp off in a sulk.

Yes, Chelsea and I can have entire conversations, and she can be very loud.

It's funny how when I'm on the phone she thinks I'm talking to her, and she talks right back. Makes for an interesting three-way conversation.

There are only two doorways she jumps over like that, and both are "well-defined" with about four or five inches of a different material separating the two spaces. That's what seems to throw her.

Our Weezie squeals.... makes all sorts of eeeppping sounds and
tiny songs that she cries. "oh I do want to go in the attic now, please open the door for me".... eeeeooouuueeee eeeaaeeeooo.

You know Weezie will detect animal scents around the doors and sniff those up. If another cat is coming up to your sliding doors and leaving scent, that may be a factor. Weezie is like a blood hound...following scents on the lawn, sidewalk and railing over our front walkway decklet. Many days she does the sniff routine around the front and back doors...but we don't have sliding ones where animals can look in.

Last week some male cat came around the screened porch at dusk, and Maya let out a KILLER scream at him. This is the rare saved up KILLER scream that you didn't know your cats were capable of. LOL So then Weezie (her pal) looked at her in horror and thought she was being screamed at, and let loose one of her own. Hubby had to break them up before fur started to fly. Then in a couple of minutes, all was contrite and back to normal.

I have Chelsea because she HATES other cats...all flavors and varieties. Much to her chagrin, there are three cats next door who come to visit. She seems to have a three feet rule where she's ok as long as they don't get too close. Still when she knows they're about, she's on a heightened state of alert. If I pick her up and carry her in the yard when she's in that state, she'll hiss at bushes and garden statues. It's pretty funny.

I just let her out a minute ago. She strolled right out onto the deck without a pause of any kind. This morning, she jumped the threshold. So bizarre.
