This is a really cute video.... a dog stealing a baby's thunder!
I don't know if I could personally handle both of these on a daily basis, but the video is very funny! and cute! .

That baby was very young. I'd guess no more than a month or two old.
The video really illustrates how SMART newborns really are. Some new mothers really underestimate their babies, IMO. Certainly the dog wanted the human making the video to help the baby. Or perhaps was just a bit jealous of the new human, and wanted to show him/her how "it is really done"...? Or if you watch The Dog Whisperer... perhaps the dog thought the baby (the newest member of the pack) was howling and the dog had to jump in there as senior howler? LOL The video still tickles something inside us, doesn't it? HEHEHHEHEHEH.

I just played the video on my laptop, and the moment the baby started crying my kitty started running around looking for her. When the dog started in, Lucy came over to me and started "digging" at me to try to get underneath me (whenever she can't find something, she assumes that it must be somewhere that she can't see, and that her mommy must have something to do with it, so that means it's underneath me! She's so smart!) Isn't it amazing how animals just have that thing built in that makes them care for other animals and the young?
My mom's dog is a little humane society mutt terrier, and she is the most protective little thing- she raised a litter of kittens that we found abandoned. There used to be this commercial on TV that had the sound of baby chicks peeping about. Whenever George heard that commercial, she would freak out and run around looking for these little lost chicks. She would run around crying and be in her mommy dog mode. It was so cute that we taped the commercial and would play it now and then so that we could watch her. But not too much because we didn't want to drive her crazy! Animals are the best escape and most wonderful little companions! Linnie |
