Dear God....
 

....please help me through this day even if I have immense pain, help my loved ones understand that I can't jump up at a moments notice to help them with their homework or clean and cook like I used to, give them the patience to understand that I am not the same mom or wife I was 2 years ago. Please give me a few moments of relief after the kids go to school. Also, I thank you for this place in RSD Land where I can go where everyone understands me and can feel the same stress that I have. I pray to you that you give them relief and happy thoughts even when they are in pain, depression, heartache and sadness. Please let them know that I pray for them everyday and even though we have never met face to face, they are the dearest people I know. They are all in my thoughts with every test, appt, and med change. I thank you for everything that I have and that you have graced me with...Amen<3

Amen. The Lord is what gets me up and through my day everyday. :) I thank him everyday too, and understand the pain you are going through! Hang in there and take a deep breath and take a warm bath :)

OMG! As I read this I thought wow, you took the thoughts and words right out of my mouth. I try to make my family understand I am not the mom I was a yr and a half ago. I am so grateful I have this group, even though I don't post much. Lately my hands just don't like to type (RSD left hand and arm, right hand and arm been sore and stiff lately-God I pray it isn't spreading). Thank you for this!

Dear Bobber, I am new to the forum, but not to the illness, nor to God's Word, and it is stated that where there are two or more of us gathered in his name he will....so far there are about eight of us here, If I might say...I would nominate you to lead us in a daily prayer. Hi stressedout, Those were words of compassion and understanding. It doesn't feel good to be totally understood doesn't it.
I'm sorry you are having some progressive symptoms. Have you checked with your orthopedic hand Dr.? When I started getting feelings of RSD in my right hand, I got started right away in therapy. Physical therapy and massagae therapy. I also did hand therapy 7 days a week at home. I took several plastic bowls and put cotton balls in one, rice in another, coffee grounds in another, sugar, beans, popcorn kernels, Then run fingers, hands thru. Also a small ball between the size of a golf ball and baseball. It feels like a gummy bear ball. It's good tool to keep limb from freezing up.
I have full body RSD and am completely mobile, except left hand-delay in diagnosis and so delay of therapy. Also water therapy is good-water needs to be 86 degrees.
No We aren't the same physically, emotionally, but we can be better in compassion, understanding, an encouragement to others, including our family.
It's difficult to communicate when someone is mad at us because we aren't available to them like we were before. There is a book that helped me express myself in a better way, and also helped me to be able to 'hear' what another person was trying to say. It's a paperback called Life-Skills for Adult Children by Janet Woititz and Alan Garner $8.95
Back to your hand, one of the best ways to keep mobile-keep from freezing up, is to do water therapy. Swimmining, My Toes started curling up and my Dr. got me into water therapy, actually told me what to do in our pool. After 4 months my toes were touching the floor again. Do you have a tens Unit? The Dr. who diagnosed me, order one for my hand. It was frozen flat and he ordered physicall therapy and tens unit. I also did the different bowls at home. and massagea therapy. I'm so grateful I'm mobile. It also desensitizes you, which is very important to be able to stand clothing, being touched etc.

The mediators get complaints about me from time to time about mentioning the lord or scripture,,I do not want to offend anyone ,but I will not bend on my faith,,I do pray for people on this board and my words are sincere,,I know that neurotalk has a christian board, but maybe they wouldnt mind a thread for us pray and encourage one another,,and for those who would be offended, they could just not read that thread,,We all need to know the lord, before its to late,,fighting carnel ways and my own inclinations are a daily fight,I by no means am any better than anyone here. Amen. No offense on my part at all. I stated from the beginning of my situation, they can have my body, mind but they are not getting my soul. (actually, I would like to keep at least a portion of my mind if possible) the soul in not negotiable. This is a terrible disease, the suffering is immense and my heart actually hurts at times. I pray for all, that is something I can do and with this disease we need to focus on what we can do. Reading your response actually put peace in my heart. I also pray for those who do not understand, family, friends, etc. There is so much heart break with those that we love. But I understand that they could not possibly understand, they would have to have the disease in order to understand, and I love them and therefore, I prefer that they never understand. I agree with the thread, I think that would be a great idea, we all need prayer but there are some days some need a little more. Thank you Bobber, God Bless

I can't tell you how many times I read your posts and feel my faith stronger...Sometimes our faith is tested when we deal with things that we don't understand. I don't have RSD, but my baby does...No I don't understand why God has chosen her for this dreadful disease, but for some reason this is her path in life. I pray every day, not only for her but for all of you. And I also post that I do. I love your scripture Bobber, and I am asking that you never stop posting the word of the Lord. I am a stronger person because of your posts. I am praying for you and thank you for praying for me and my beautiful daughter. And if someone is offended then they should skip the post.

I do believe that God has gotten each and every one of us as far as we have come and he will get us the rest of the way.

When I was at my worst, my Dr. use to insist I take walks everyday and I would walk and cry but I always felt like God was walking beside me holding my hand. I honestly felt him doing it.

I'm glad that we have this thread and I do hope it doesn't offend anyone but as Bobber says, we don't have to read it if we feel it's not for us.

Thanks again for this prayer and I do pray for all of you too.

I so aggree with you.... we all need the solid foundation in our hearts to accept and move forward and not to feel so alone.. RSD has a way of making us all feel so sad and lonely... I have faith..it is in my heart....

Thank you all for the love that you show thru your faith and your pen. Every thread on this board is aimed at supporting each other,giving hope,knowledge,and wisdom ,It also is a lifeline to our souls and minds,our hearts that ache in pain and distress,we need to hear nurturing empathy words from another, who's world is upside down due to this disease. So whether a thread consist of help about a medication, or need of info about a Dr or the problability of the chances on ketamine or a SCS,ect,, I dont think everything on this board is meant just to discuss the flesh, for which in reality is rotting in my case, and im getting no relief from the Dr;s or the meds,,I recieve more from the hearts and minds of the afflicted ones here who have the love to show sympathy to encourage me to continue on,,therefore i hope that I can continue to hear the pleading hearts of the injured, who's pain is not understood by the arrogantand ignorant,of this world , who do not understand this disease ,,,I need help, from the intelligent of this world,whether its about a medication,SCS ,Pain pump, or any procedure,includeing a prayer to my lord in which he is the perfect physician,,,I will without finding fault request the insight of this board for all situations ,for all ideas and responses to everyones own opion on everything that is pertenant to relief of this disease. All suggestions are welcomed,we need each other and need to listen with an open mind,,when i do not agree,with someones output,,I just respectfully dont respond so not to cause descention,, i do respect the review of all,to each his or her own,,,,but i do believe we should have a thread on this forum to encourage and share our walk with God,,,And to be very clear,,when I am adressing someones thread that is directly adressing them ,and they are not GOD fearing,,I will keep my response to their subject matter only,,,,I do enjoy this forum and the people here, I do try to respect all,,but there are people here with RSd on a RSD forum who spiritualy need to hear from others who are in spiritual need....

I have posted from the beginning that I come here befor I go to sleep and reas the posts and pray for everyone. I just felt the need to post it to let you all know what I pray about...an as always this is my safe haven. If I post that it's an RSD day on Face Book everyone starts asking questions and it stresses me out, so I come here amoung my dear friends and peers...love to you all :hug:
