Time To Check In.
It has been kind of slow here:(. If you had any idea
of how much I need and look forward to being here and talking to you every day, you wouldn't do this to me.. :Sigh: :rain: :hissyfit: :OuttaHere: :Sinking: :Bang-Head: :Bawling: :inlove: Please check in when you are able, even if it's just to complain. I'll listen and answer you. Or just to say hi, gotta go:D I think I'll start a HI Gotta Go thread? :grouphug: |
Hey there Miss Sally! :)
Nothing new and/or exciting going on here. It's cold and breezy and supposed to get colder this weekend. I thought today was Monday because none of the regular shows were on daytime TV yesterday because of the inauguration. I need to make an appointment to get my hair cut. Wish I could find someone who'd come to my house. Going anywhere anymore just seems like more trouble than it's worth. By the time I get back home I'm so exhausted and worn out it takes days to start feeling somewhat normal (at least "MY" normal...) again. Okay...who's next? :D |
Hi! I finally went to the doctor today. I have an ear infection, sinus infection, and possible strep. they did not bother to test me for the strep since the antibiotics they prescribed will work for it too. I just hope I do not have an allergic reaction to the meds or that it causes another bout of colitis.
|
Hi ya Kells.:) It's 5 here with a wind chill of 10 below:eek:.
I'm still thinking it's wed., today. I watched the whole thing. It was pretty good entertainment. I cut my own hair. Don't you know anyone who does hair? My Niece does, but she lives in VA.:) The hoopla of going out is what makes me cut my own hair and still use ancient eye glasses that are just a little bit better than being blind. Thank heavens for the zoom button.:D Thanks Kelly, I knew I could count on you. |
Hi Sally!
Heard about the two very large traffic accidents in your neck of the woods. Sounded bad. Bad weather? Sunny and 70 here today. Tom |

I hate you and your weather today, but thanks for checking in to rub it in.:D:p:D |
Barb, do you take vitamin D3? I won't be without it. I take about 8,000 IU's daily. You're out and about much more than I am, though, so I'm sure you're exposed to much more than I am. I hope you feel better soon!
|
Awww, sorry Barb, that stinks. Darn bugs. Drink lots
of liquid, take your AB and feel Better soon. |
Sally- a cyber hug from me to you. Nothing new here. Happy new year!
missJ |
Kelly, I take 4000 iu of vitamin d a day.

Hiya Sally! I'm here! Oh wait...gotta go!
J/K Back on the bike last weekend for the first time since July. I have been spinning at the gym several times a week, but hadn't done any outdoor riding. Did 26 miles in about an hour and a half. Going for 37 miles this saturday...supposed to be sunny and 65 that day. Hope it starts warming up for you soon up there! |

TUMERIC. Can't say enough of this one - esp for the inflammation. Oil of Oregano (tastes awful but works. Take a mouth of water, put 4-5 drops of oil, take another swig of water and swallow). GARLIC. Selenium. Sulfur rich foods. Anti-viral diet: NO grains, No corn, No sugar, No soy. Apple cider vinegar. Organic as much as possible. Essential EFA's. |
Sally and TXBatman- I just got back from PT. I walked there and back- not a good gait, but I made it. I did all my exercises including 12 minutes on a bike at interval training 4. I turn everything up a tad each visit.:) Burned 39 calories.:(
It's 23 degrees F. The high for tomorrow is 17! And we lost the Superbowl. Jah. We played the (other team) and they won fair and square so we don't get to go to the big game. The region is in mourning. Boo-hoo. Help yourself to the chocolate- I seem to have extra.:) ANN Hi, Happyisme. Crosspost. |
Stopping in to say Hi is enough MissyJ..
TX, nice to see you and happy to see you are still pushing the peddle to the floor.:D Wish I could do that. What happened in July that kept you from Biking? Happyasme, nice to have you check in too.:) Hi Ann, thanks for checking to my dumb thread.:D I'm so happy you were able to walk to your spa and back home again without falling or getting in trouble.:D My team, the Bengals, lost too.:( |

Hi Sally - Not much new here. Tomorrow is supposed to be REALLY COLD in MA. Think I'll hibernate with the dog and let DH do the errands. DD's called today to talk about their upcoming trips. My "trips" are to the doctor and back lol!
Wanted to check in, and chocolate does sound like a good idea.:) How's kitty cat? Nora:hug: |
Hi Sally,
Haven't posted much in the last few days because we're taking care of our beloved kitty daughter. She's dying of renal failure, and we're trying to make her last days as comfortable as possible. We're also heartbroken. I'm so exhausted; I've been having a relapse since the holidays, and dealing with this has floored me, so I'm not the best company right now! I just don't have the strength to cope with things anymore, and that makes me mad at myself as well... I miss cold weather! We haven't had a winter at all this year in Key West; it was in the 80s all last week and the 70s this week. We had two cool days in the 60s, and that's it. I know that this is ideal for most people, but I miss the cold. We came here from a 10,000 foot mountaintop in Colorado, where we had 500 inches of snow every winter--yup, 35 feet! I loved it. So I love reading about your cold temperatures... Key West is beautiful, but I miss seasons and mountains! Hope you're feeling well, Sally, and that your capsules are working well for you. I've blown my diet so badly this week, I don't even know if I'll weigh myself for the weigh-in on Friday! Our grief and worry over our beautiful Tabitha has caused such an emotional roller coaster for us. She's a 13 1/2 year old Manx, and was abused by her former owners (she was living under a house). We got her from a shelter four-and-a-half years ago and she's been our daughter. As I said, we're heartbroken. :( |
Hi All. I haven't been feeling well for past few weeks- all of my symptoms seem to be back in full force. Went to my pcp last week & she prescribed ambian so that maybe I could get some sleep but am still only getting 2 hour chunks but added feeling crazy to my long list of complaints, lol. I have not posted anything for awhile cause I have not been in a very positive space but I come often to read what's up with everyone. What a blessing this site has been for me! Hope everyone is well & you can pass any extra chocolate this way!! :D

Things are going pretty well for me. My pain level has been a little high because I’ve been going to Physical Therapy for the last few weeks. It is the “good” kind of pain, though, that comes with increasing my strength and stamina.
Yesterday was kind of “interesting.” At PT they took my Blood Pressure before they started my exercises. It was so high that they had me lie down with a BP monitor for the whole PT session. My BP is almost always high when I am away from home. I monitored it after I got home yesterday. The only high reading was taken within an hour of getting home. After that, it was nice and low, and it is still low this morning. Go figure. I think that one of the problems with my BP has to do with the fact that I am most comfortable and at ease at home, and definitely not very at ease anywhere else. Even though the folks at PT are medically trained, I don’t think they can conceive of the dwindling zone of comfort that people with MS experience. They underestimate how overwhelming the outside world can be for us. I’ve never had an anxiety attack in my life, but I certainly am more anxious when I am out and about. Other than that, things in my life are going fine. :) |
 Keely  Bless you for giving your kitty a loving home. She knows and appreciates it. Prayers for you as losing a precious pet is losing a member of your family. Please take care and know that you're in my thoughts and prayers.

Jane is here, in wicked cold southeastern VA-
Sympathies & hugs to those who need it, joy & smiles for those who are doing well. I also look forward to "chatting" with my NT friends; my outside the home activities have gotten saller and smaller and my NT buddies make my life feel more "normal". We all sit at our computers talking, uplifting, guiding and helping each other. I am sitting here today in my flannel jammies, slurping another mug of coffee. Sis is off to her sheltered workshop, DH is still in bed (his RA is acting up) and my kitty Spot is snuggled in my lap (she told me she is proof-reading). I have an afternoon conf call - which I am seriously considering blowing off and a sink full of dirty pots from supper last night. All in all, life is good. and Sal ---:You-Rock::I-Agree::Good-Post::Thanx: |
Hi ya Blessings.
Hi MSer, it's bitter cold here, so I'm an indoor cat right along with my CinderPaw.:D Awwww Keely, So sorry about you losing your little Kittycat and of course your MS would act up, with all of this stress. Eating sometime give you solace, so eat, just move it more when you can. My love and prayers are with you, DH and DCat. HI Lisa, so sorry that you haven't been feeling well and having a flare up.:( I know about the sleeping in chunks, mine are at least about 4 hours though. 2 is not enough. Hope you are better soon. Hi Marion, glad you are doing well and getting some PT, too. My BP always is high when first taken in the Docs office, but I ask the Doc to take it before I leave and it's always back down.:) Nice to see you JANE,:) my kitty Cinders was sitting in my lap proof reading too, until I had a spontanious jerk of my leg and she flew..lol. Thanks for all the love and right back atcha.:D :grouphug: |
Is this the new Insights thread?

I usually ride 2-5 hours nearly every weekend between mid january and mid april to train for the MS150, so it is nice to take a bit of a break for the rest of the year. Though I usually ride a bit more in the fall than I did this year. I still do 45-60 minute spinning classes 2-4 times per week depending on the week all year round, so I don't really lose my fitness level. |
Okay....I'm gonna need good thoughts and prayers this Saturday. DS has asked me to go to his fiances' dress fitting, venue visit and lunch with him, his fiance', her mother and the dress maker. :)
This is a good thing......I just hope I don't collapse before I make it back home! He's picking me up at 9 AM Saturday morning (the time I'm usually rolling out of bed ) and we have to go all the way up to the wedding venue which is about 50 miles north of here. Fiance's mother is so sweet and fun to be around plus she is aware of my limitations. It's going to be a long day but DS is so excited about it and wants me to go so there's no way I'm going to disappoint him. His fiance' called me yesterday to tell me how excited they are that I'm going. She's so sweet. I just hope my left leg and unpredictable bladder behave themselves and give me a day off. |
Having an allegic reaction to the bactrim. I kept telling myself that I was just imagining the itching. Yesterday , the itching continues, had a severe headache on the left side of my head, and continued to be nauseated. This morning I wode up splotchy. So I am discontinuing the bactim, taking benadryl, and waiting for doctor to call about another antibiotic. I just might not take it.
|
Kitty, good luck with your outing, your bladder and your leg:). I hope you don't have to do too much walking. Do you have a walker?
Relax, have a muscle relaxant (to early to drink) before they pick you up and have a great time. You deserve it, dammit:D  |
I'm allergic to bactrim too or any of the sulfa's and also to cipro and macridid.
Hope you find another AB that works for you. |
Completed the Tetra-C AB for the ear infection. Have been down with the HUG and digestive issues (regional enteritis flare) for the last 4 days.
Boo Hoo...tough to sit at the computer for very long; so will catch you all later. With love, Erika |
Hey, Sal, how the heck are ya? ;)
|
Thanks for asking Blessings, if I was any better, I'd have to be twins..:D:p:D
And You? |

I'd better stop right there, or we'll run out of space. |
Well B2Y, when I get sick, I'm sick all over. Even my fingernails hurt.:D

Hi Sal
Just passing through for a drive-by hug and hello! In the middle of the cold/flu infection from hell, but any distraction is greatly appreciated, and any hugs/affection would be welcomed :D Cheers Lyn :winky: |

Hiya SalPal!
I haven't checked onto the board for a few weeks and almost never read the Insights thread (nothing personal -- just can't keep up with everyone's stuff).
Anyway, thought I'd say hello and indulge you in your "ITS ALL ABOUT ME" thread. hehe! ;) |
