Thread Rescuer

I'm trying to prove to myself (and another unnamed person ;) ) that I'm not a "thread killer".

If this thread dies with my post, then it's official and I claim the title to put into my profile. Thing is, I don't want to be thread killer. Help?

I'll start this off then. I'm Kim.

I've worked with Dr. John Grohol for three years now and yes, he's genuine, he's caring and as professional as they come...consistently.

I'm raising my four year old nephew and have since just before his second birthday. BOTH of my daughters are pregnant. My youngest is having the most difficult pregnancy I've heard of. It's difficult. :(

I live with Trigeminal Neuraligia and am dedicated to NT and its members.

Please, please, please don't let this thread die with my post... Consider it a rescue mission :)

Tell me about YOU! Let's chat, ask questions and get to know each other, have coffee together in the mornings, laugh, cry, moan or gripe...ANYTHING. I want you to know me and I want to know you mostly, but I also DON'T want to be cause of this thread's demise!

Thank you!

Kim

kimmydawn 05-07-2007 11:58 PM

Let's open this up...whoever posts last can have my self-made title! ;)

I'll try to save you, and you try to save me..we get to know each other in the process. :)

KD

love you kimmy. :welcome_sign: to NeuroTalk...the best forum with the best members.

kimmydawn 05-08-2007 12:05 AM

watsonsh 05-08-2007 12:05 AM

Ok I am game.

I'm Shelley. My nickname is Bella..as in Shella bella. :p

But my mom will tell you that I was going to be a Lisa but that was a rich girls name so she named me after the hot dog factory down the street fromthe projects where we lived...hahahaha...Shelley's hot dogs.

I am a TOSer, early RSDer and who knows what endocrine problem I have actually have. I have tried very hard the last two years to overcome and live with whats worng and my pain. Its frustrates me to no end.

I have a wonderful husband. We love each other dearly.

I am also a night owl :D Hoot Hoot atleast on the thread. No early birdies for me..unless Chemar has gummies.

I am 43 and live in Los Angeles. I work in advertising and run the advertising for a major hollywood studio...less glam than it sounds....as you can see because I am writing this at work at 10P. :(

I love cupcakes but recently wen on a very strick diet and am trying to lose some weight.

Ok lets see what would I like to know about you?

Kimmy I think you are great and dedicated! And I thank you for that. Also your pic is very pretty.

I am praying for both your daughters pregnancies

I see you are from Ohio but am hoping you are not a Buckeye :icon_lol: ...Go Blue!!!!

How long have you had TN?

What's your fave TV show? movie or book?

Ok back to work for me.

See you are not a thread killer

Curious 05-08-2007 12:08 AM

 woohooo...saved you shelley..

hey chicky...i thought i was older than you. i'm 43 too...so is kimmy. hehehe..i outed you this time kimmy!

kimmydawn 05-08-2007 12:17 AM

I won't let you kill it either! Thank you, (((((( shelley ))))))

Wow, you're job sounds great, as does your relationship with hubby. :)

I'm sorry about the pain you deal with. :( You are in my thoughts!

I'm 43 as well! My last job was as a project coordinator for a sports marketing firm and, prior to that, I was a legal asst. for many years. I now stay home.

Good luck on losing weight! I need help right now because I swear I'm having cravings for my daughters...funyuns and heath bars...usually together!

Thank you so much for your kinds words...*blush* Thank you more than you know for the prayers for my daughters.

I've had TN since I was 20. It started with a large cyst in my right maxiallary sinus. I'm blessed that my pain isn't as bad as it was with the initial cyst. However, four surgeries (two reconstructive) did their damage.

My favorite all time TV show is "The Golden Girls". Right now, my favorite late night is "Frasier". My all time favorite movie is "Armegeddon" My favorite book is "She's Come Undone" by Wally Lamb. I miss reading and don't watch much TV anymore. I'm too old and tired to be this danged busy. ;)

Thank you for saving me!

I'm right back in the same boat, though. Par for the course? ;)

Help?

KD

kimmydawn 05-08-2007 12:19 AM

boy, you ARE the yappy monkey now, aren't you? ;)

I thought about living my fantasy and saying I was 23...LOL.

Wild that we're all 43, isn't it? It's not a bad age at all ;)

KD

watsonsh 05-08-2007 12:23 AM

How cool that we are all 43.

Wait you did not answer whether you are a buckeye? Give it up.

Let's see my fave book...Harry Potter, any one.

Fave movie...Devil Wears Prada.

Fave TV show...Grey's Anatomy and Brothers & Sisters.

How did you find NT and Doc John?

Curious 05-08-2007 12:24 AM

oh...PUL-LEEZE tell me you don;'t eat the funyons and the heath bars at the same time.

Curious 05-08-2007 12:29 AM

i am a csi freak. i read EVERYTHING!

i know you didn't ask me...but i felt like yapping. :p

watsonsh 05-08-2007 12:31 AM

I just love that you Yap!

I am Law & Order freak but only on USA

Ok funyons and heath bars

So why is KD a thread killer?

kimmydawn 05-08-2007 12:33 AM

I'm a buckeye, but not orginally. I was raised a marine corps kid and lived all over. Don't ask me why my parents decided to settle in Ohio, but it's home now. If I could, I'd move back to NC.

I was never a member at BT. I came on board here after working a couple of years at Psych Central. It was there for me when I didn't know where to turn and I so wanted to be involved in helping and sharing. You see, I've survived alot. I survived it for a reason...to share and to care...to let others know that healing can happen, and people do care.

I'd known DocJohn prior to that through his affiliation with another online support community, though. I guess I've known him, and his work, now for 6 years.

When DocJohn offered to give a home for people who needed it here, I jumped on board because I know he wants the best in what he offers and I also live with TN. It was another fit for me and a way I can "give back" to just some of what's been given to me.

KD

Curious 05-08-2007 12:36 AM

she thinks y'all only see her as admin  ...that if she posts..it is the end of the discussion. lol...like we are trained. she should know better. i'm gonna yap..and yap....

i like law and order too. we don;t watch much tv anymore. sometimes i mis it. i find that we spend more quality time as family without the tv.

lol...my brother used to eat potato chips and peanut butter.

any weird stuff you have eaten?

kimmydawn 05-08-2007 12:36 AM

OMG, shelley, me too about LAW & ORDER and only on USA as well! LOL!

I'm a thread killer, self-proclaimed, because I want to get to know people and let them get to know me and it's been difficult. I need to be rescued there and let others know I'll rescue them too. :)

KD

Curious 05-08-2007 12:39 AM

oh...don't believe her.

when doc first started nt..i loved it the first day. i posted lots of choccy and coffee. she is here for the snacks. :p

kimmydawn 05-08-2007 12:39 AM

another thing i love and hadn't had since i was pregnant with my oldest is...karo syrup mixed with butter and dip bread in it...soft, doughy bread.

guess what? i bought some karo at the store. i REALLY am having cravings for them and in my peri-menopause. I need to be really careful because I lost the 87 lbs 7-8 yrs ago and I don't want to gain it back just because my name is changing to "mammaw". ;)

KD

Curious 05-08-2007 12:42 AM

just make sure it doesn't end up Moo-Moo. :p

watsonsh 05-08-2007 12:45 AM

Ok you two are crazy funny.

Curious you do have the bestest snacks ever! Although Chermar does have those gummies. And Alffe that silky pie thing. Gosh I am hungry.

LOL Mammaw..Karo syrup?

Hmmmm weird foods...gosh I can't think of anything too weird. I did grow up in Buffalo before chicken wings were cool. And I have a sweet tooth, actually teeth that probably put and addition on my dentists house.

Ack perimenopause...no too early we are only 42, I mean 23.

watsonsh 05-08-2007 12:46 AM

Now Curious be nice.

She is feisty tonight!

kimmydawn 05-08-2007 12:47 AM

HEHE.

You know was David said to me today (my four-year old)? I put on makeup and we were going to his school and he told me that he loved me more when I wear makeup! Can you believe that? LOL!

I can't kiss him at school anymore. I teared up. He's growing up.

KD

Curious 05-08-2007 12:48 AM

hehehe...gotta watch out for the monkey

watsonsh 05-08-2007 12:48 AM

watsonsh 05-08-2007 12:54 AM

Ok I am done for the night.

Been fun rescuing you KD. I'll send more troops tomorrow. :grouphug:

kimmydawn 05-08-2007 12:55 AM

hehe shelley @ 23 :)

Now, when I lived in Hawaii, there were some "different" foods to eat there. There were some really good foods too, though!

You should've seen me in Hawaii...a young teen...fair, white-headed, feeling awful...till one day this man dressed in robes and stuff walked up to me on the street, took my hand, kneeled in front of me and said with a very different accent..."Oh, a WHITE woman!" He had body guards with him and wouldn't let go of my hand. After a while I got scared before some young marines swooped in and took me away. It was explained later that he "adored" me BECAUSE of my looks. It didn't bother me to look so different after that. ;) He was purdy. ;)

KD

watsonsh 05-08-2007 12:56 AM

Gimme my head back :Poke: C'mon

Wait we are supposed to be rescuing KD....:mf_swordfight:

kimmydawn 05-08-2007 12:56 AM

Thank you shelly!

I used to have really short hair. I'll see if I can find a pic.

Our little men are so cute :)

KD

watsonsh 05-08-2007 12:57 AM

Ooooo Hawaii...that's my fave place...Big Island.

Who was the mystery man in the robe? Royalty??

Could have been Princess KD

Curious 05-08-2007 12:59 AM

:Crazy 2: like i ever stay on topic. :Sinking:

kimmydawn 05-08-2007 01:03 AM

I have no idea who the man was...never heard of him or saw him again. He literally just walked up to me on the street. I thought he was just going to shake my hand. I'll never forget the way he said that...LOL. It was back in the mid-seventies.

I remember that he had a long white robe with a red (silk?) sash draped around his shoulders and two LARGE body guards on either side, and just behind him. When the marines came in to get me, they stepped up. I'd gone from thinking it a joke, to shock, to ready to cry when I felt people grab each one of my elbows and then it happened really quick...LOL.

I LOVED Hawaii and would like to go back. We were stationed on Oahu...kaneohe bay...KMCAS

KD

watsonsh 05-08-2007 01:03 AM

KD

Burntmarshmallow 05-08-2007 07:27 AM

ha someone is in need of rescue .....looks like a job for me. I for one cant pass by one in need of help. I think the thread said tell about yourself.
so I am 40 soon to be 41. 2 girls and d.h. 1 dog 3 cats. my mom is elderly and doc has given an all down hill 6 months to 1 year left..outlook.
I myself have t.n. anesthesia dolorosa which I recently learned is now classified as phantom pain. I also have 3 plates holding my lower jaw together... I was/am the first in u.s.a. to try a neuro stim implant for my pain. I have had it since 2002. I try to help others who are like me even if it is just saying a few nice words or to show them they are not alone. I appreciate neuro talk so much. like today and yesterday my face pain way up ... was so helpfull to come and read some of the posts as I couldnt go out side and I just wanted to burrow under a balnket and hide forever. I wanted to go buy a pack of cigs but I quit and stood fast not giving in. Right now my tummy feels ill cus of the med I am on for quitting it is called chantix.. but right now i think a better name would be up chuckx. I have a problem eatting and only eat food at night when hunger has overpowered the t.n. has to do with chewing and face pain so ... my stomach is empty and chantix is to be taken after a meal.:( the phrase where their is a will there is a way fits here well. ha ha.
so I bored you all talking of myself but I was able to save kd from being a killer of threads ha I think I am a thread killer I know of at least 3 that stopped after my post. hummmm ? wonder if this one... hummmm
Peace Peace

watsonsh 05-08-2007 10:34 AM

Morning KD.

Awesome another rescuer came by to help. :)

Hi BMW

Off to work for me. :(

Jomar 05-08-2007 11:14 AM

Ok - I'm 51+ but I have always gotten along well with younger people.
Young at heart I guess.
Or could be I was mostly around younger kids and cousins growing up LOL.
Age is just a number and a feeling anyway right???:D :D

snoozie 05-08-2007 11:27 AM

Hi gang, I am also 43 soon to be the double 4's. THis morning I am taking my 14 year old son to school and the guy next door who divorced a few years ago has a new girlfriend who has been staying the night now. So my son says to me "how old is R___?" I say about my age why? He says, "I thought he was too old to be getting a new girlfriend!" So according to my 14 year old son .....We are old!!!!!. The little punk;)

Here I thought I was the thread killer as I have that way of grabbing on to a sinking thread and being the last survivor. Prove me wrong OK? ...Sue:winky:

Burntmarshmallow 05-08-2007 11:34 AM

hello snoozie ha my kids 16 and 13 call me granny pants and sometimes mom if I cook something they like I get a hug ha ha kids.

BMW

kimmydawn 05-08-2007 12:03 PM

((((((( burnt, snoozie, jo )))))))

snoozie, don't you love the honesty of children, and for a teen he was NICE! Same age? That's wild! You can tell your boy for me that we're not older...just "not young". hehe :)

Burnt, I have three cats too. I'm so sorry to read about your mother. You're all in my prayers and meditations. You have had an amazing road with TN, and a courage to be admired. :)

jo, you're a youngun still yet in my book...well, now that I'm 43. ;)

Thanks for all the rescues! It's my turn again...

Today's a bad day. I woke up with a lump in my throat that won't go away. I feel pretty defeated with fate and not understanding why so much is happening and had to happen recently. I think I feel defeated because I'm so limited to work any of it...mom doesn't have super-human powers after all..

I'll turn it around but I might have to have a good cry first..

The funny thing today...I found out that my youngest has her appt. with OB tomorrow at 2:50 and my oldest at the same OB at 3:30. This will be fun. I'm taking my camera!!! LOL.

KD
