Slovenia

....any of you been there?

thinking of adding it into my holiday...

am going to attempt inter railing with some people!!

basically it means you buy a card ($140) and can use a train as much as you want anywhere in Europe! for 5 days out of 10 so planning on getting a Ferry to Holland then going to Amsterdam, Berlin and then probaly Slovenia and then flying home. It's going to be a mega trip. I was originally going to go Amsterdam up to Denmark, Sweden and round but I think that's too much travelling.

As it is I think I'm pushing myself far too far, but hey, it's worth a try and the worst that happens is that I feel dreadful - well, hey, I feel dreadful anyhow and it might (Hopefully) cheer me up, and if not, the recovery weeks will be!.

I'm trying to not kid myself and the lucky people coming with me that it's going to be pushing myself too much, but I'm so fed up of "giving in" to the disease. We have decided to "hostel" it, but going to try and take my pressure mattress (new one should deflate) and will be on pressure cushions etc and as we can't use the hoist abroad till I can afford a new decent one which the evil NHS won't pay for (well, it's a *luxury* as it can be carried around with you) it's not coming with me. So taking a carer I know well (Becksy) and the board and sling and we'll manage somehow - might actually leave the board and she'll just have to lug me around, it's what she normally does as we can never be bothered to follow the b***** manual handling rules.

So, any thoughts?

Love ya!!

Froggsy!!! xxxxxxx

and if I remember, if any of you PM me your addresses I'll send postcards!! :D xxxxxxxx

PS It looks rad! :D and the exchange rate rocks !!! :D

Wow Frogga!!!!

A REAL vacation--not a pretend one. You go girl:) :) :) Like you said you are in pain anyway, might as well see new sights and have some fun so if you are really down at any time you will have beautiful memories to to look back on and something to smile about in your mind. My Dr. wants to do a nerve block just before I fly so I don't have as many problems with dystonia, you might want to check with you Dr. Prayers for a wonderful exciting time:winky:

Hi Frogga,

I do know what you mean about living in a place takes the awe out of it.

My sister will be here in 13 days and I have to find places here for us to go. What I do like about Colorado is that there are some places here that take a person's breath away. I mean that litterly too because of the altitude. LOL

I am going to take her to the Great Sand Dunes, The Aligator Farm, Pikes Peak and several other places that are just beautiful that I have seen but there are other places here that I am dying to see that I haven't that I hope we can when she gets here.

Every place has some good things to offer I guess, unfortunetly we just don't always see them when we live there.

I will switch places with you for awhile if you'd like. I would love to see some of your area.

Sounds like fun...!! ;)

I am proud of you, going on a vacation! Woo! I am excited for you, and hope it goes really well. Next time I'll have to go with you, huh?!

I know, you have to accept the pain and do it anyways, I sure hope it works!! :D I hope you get to do some fun sight seeing, and do take pictures! Come back with lots of fun memories, and tell us about it.

Now this sky diving thing... where?? Like, right by where you live?  I wasn't sure where you can sky dive. Or maybe right here in NJ- we've got a place near by. When are you coming to the states? I mean, is it still a possibility with the placement?

Love ya! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Ada: where you live sounds like much fun! Here in NJ we see lots of beaches, lighthouses, board walks, amusement parks, woodland preserves, bird watching and butterflies... trade with me for a while?? ;)

Hi Frogga,

Congratulations to you! Absolutely wonderful!:You-Rock:

You haveto show us some pictures! What is your focus for sightseeing?

Did I see something about skydiving? No way! Skydiving??? I don't think I could do that. My thought it to not jump out of a perfectly good airplane.

I applaud you!

I would love a postcard!

Desi 07-23-2007 03:43 PM

I too, like DWT would love a post card Frogga! that would be awesome!! TIA Love, Desi :0)

dreambeliever128 07-23-2007 04:55 PM

Hi IHH,

I will trade with you for awhile.

My Dr. is from New Jersey and I have another friend from there and they have both told me stories of it and I would love to see it.

My sister is afraid of heights but she is flying in. First time for that. She usually drives up every year. I want to take her to some of the highest places here but I will most likely have to drug her with some of my sedatives to get her there. LOL

I want to go to the top of Pikes Peak and look down at Colorado Springs and as far as I can see. I want to go through the Marble mine in Marble and go take her through some of the Ghosttowns in this area.

The hardest part for me is going to be the driving. Bill always did all of our driving. I know my sister will do some too.

I want to see your beaches and lighthouses. I'll trade for awhile.

We'll just all rotate weeks with each other.

Ada

 You're a loon! Are you sure you're not planning this voyage solely to give your mum rabid-cat-like fits?! [heh heh heh]
Please be sure to pack oversized large-brimmed red hat to keep off sun and to draw maximum bold attention. And practice your Xena ululations!

:winky:
