Please vote for your favorite forum name!

Please vote for your favorite Community names in the poll. Choose up to 3 names you like!

I whittled the list down from the original ~50 names to the favorites expressed by those who had an opinion and my own favorites.

The name with the most votes and which has no trademark or other intellectual property rights issues will become our new name! (Redirects will be put in place to ensure no one gets lost finding us.)

Thank you for your time.

Doc John,

I know I've just woken up and it's me, but I don't see the poll.

Thanks!

KD

Curious 10-12-2006 08:50 AM

kimmydawn 10-12-2006 08:52 AM

jccgf 10-12-2006 08:57 AM

I'm two cups of coffee into the day, and I don't see a poll either  :D

....maybe Doc John is still waking up, too :).

Snoopy 10-12-2006 08:59 AM

Umm....Good Morning Doc, do you need coffee:rolleyes:

At least I know my mind is in tact (at least at the moment) and my vision isn't going:D

kimmydawn 10-12-2006 09:01 AM

Well, i know my mind is never "in tact" (though i work on it daily) but my vision is pretty good. ;)

jccgf 10-12-2006 10:01 AM

I think we were just a little overanxious to vote!

This is a really nice poll~ I like that we could pick three. It is going to be fun to watch!

Cara

Junie 10-12-2006 10:11 AM

I messed up....did not read it all and only voted for one then I went back but it would not let me vote again....so I lost 2 votes:(

mrsD 10-12-2006 10:13 AM

This has been a

very enjoyable thread...naming the new forum. I think others had as much fun as I did, trying to think up new names (which is very difficult I think).

It is very gracious of DocJohn to allow all of us, the OBT and new BT2 posters, to have
a say. And I agree, having 3 choices, to pick further from is also a good idea.

Thanks, DocJohn.;)

bizi 10-12-2006 10:20 AM

Doc John

I just want to say again...that how it looks on a url is important.
I wish Doc john could also list them all lower case and run on.
I like the poll and it was hard to narrow it down to 3.
thank you again!

All funning aside, I would really like our Forum to be taken seriously.

kimmydawn 10-12-2006 12:27 PM

Gotcha.

I don't think that anything will stop the forums from being taken seriously and/or appropriately in what we offer as a shared goal...no matter the name.

We've already made several "statements" through good intended actions in that realm I think...good ones.

Thanks,

KD

Alffe 10-12-2006 12:30 PM

Excuse me but I think you've left out one........

Younameit,wehaveit. :D

highhatsize 10-12-2006 12:30 PM

My choice would be, "Brainiacs", but it's not on the poll, (and probably copyrighted), would be offensive to some, and is not serious. In short, it's me.

Mother's Heart 10-12-2006 01:21 PM

what you have to live with DocJohn:rolleyes:

Doody 10-12-2006 02:27 PM

Holy cow we forgot "younameitwegotit".

Ick ick. Brain matters...makes me think of grey matter and brains spilling out all over the place and sounds like the half-brother of Braintalk. LOL :p A brain in a jar.

Phillipe 10-12-2006 02:28 PM

'the matters'

Here is why I do not like Brain Matters. While waiting in the ER room of a hospital with a friend some years ago, a gun shot victim came in and the doctor was telling someone that this victim's "Brain Matter" was oozing from his head. Apparently the word "matter" is a term used for the insides of the brain. When I saw Brain Matters on the list, it quickly brought back old memories.

Doody 10-12-2006 02:29 PM

This is like watching a turtle race.

I better go out amongst the masses and start campaigning for my favorite. Be back later. :D

Exactly!

We're too late Phillipe, time to start campaigning in the masses.

And ((Phillipe)), we'll live. You and I can think of it differently. We'll just call it BM and go on about our business.:)

Phillipe 10-12-2006 03:37 PM

EXACTLY, DOODY. Who came up with Brain Matters? :p
BM is what I will call it. :(

Neuro Talk is my vote and I'm sticking with it. Keeping my fingers crossed that "the grey matter" does not get it. :o

Doody 10-12-2006 03:43 PM

Well, maybe it was kinda the point, Phillipe, but thought of in a 'catchy' way??? Brain...matter. LOL but when you've seen the stuff... is there a sick smiley here anywhere? LOL

It's fun watching the poll though. The little bars just keep inching along, like little snails or something.

It's nice to have a poll like this.

Thanks Doc John, you rock!

KathyM 10-12-2006 04:20 PM

It's a good thing no one asked me to help come up with a name. I probably would have suggested "Brain Farts." :p

Alffe 10-12-2006 04:27 PM

:D :D :D :p ;) :o  :D

bluesky63 10-12-2006 05:05 PM

Not to keep dragging this on . . . but after narrowing it down to the top three, can we then have a final vote to choose the final top winner?

Sort of like -- this is the primaries, and then we can have the actual election once we know which candidates have made the cut. :-)

farside 10-12-2006 05:27 PM

I like bluesky's suggestion of a final vote once it's narrowed.

If my choices aren't part of the final 3, I'd still like an opportunity to vote for the final once they're picked.

Lots of good choices, so difficult to choose...

Chemar 10-12-2006 05:42 PM

I agree on a final 3 vote please! or at least a final 2..........:)
