breezes gently caress the fields
offering a gentle whistle is what it yields

a soft rush of harmonized sounds
as gentle winds caress the grounds

rustling, creeking as the branches sway
the sound of natures music can blow you away.

sorry cant be to serious on a Friday afternoon. Florida get hot hot and wish a waterfall in my backyard most days. ha ha. we have sink holes and hurricanes.

TAG: The Trees

A poetry slam is open to the public people gather and have a slam you sign up to compete. everyone is given a topic and you have 5 minutes to write a poem on that topic. then each person stand at the mic and reads performing the
poem they wrote to the judges and audience. audience cheers for their fav.
there is usualy 3 rounds ... 3 topics . at the end the judges and audience picks the best 3 or 4 people. I just did my second slam this December... was a BLAST!!!!

laughing children run to and fro,
what they are doing no one knows,
playing, skipping and digging in the sand,
running to me showing me their hands,
filled with precious gifts they not know
to them they are diamonds, gems and golden bells,
yet to me they are just sea shells....

How to Tag
 

For this forum, tag works as such....


One person writes a poem that is mentioned TAG. It's an 'on-the-spot' poem. Then once finished, come up with a new TAG.

If you notice, Frank tagged Milkshakes, I wrote a poem for Milkshakes and have left a tag for Thunderstorms. :)

{The bigger concept was that Tag is ideally done in chat, but due to time constraints, we are settling for this board :)} Hope that helps! We are excited to add more players :D

lightening splits the darken sky
brillant lights hit your eye

gentle rains begin to caress the earth
a needed requirment for what its worth

a muffled rumble still far away
now the trees begin to sway

brighter the flashes cut across the clouds

A CHRISTMAS STORY " The Candy Maker"
 

:wink: Once unpon a time in a quaint distant town,
the old candy maker shared a message all around.
Because he knew Jesus Christ in such a loving way
his goal was making candy in the shape of a "J".
Using Sweet White candy showing Purity without sin,
the now famous Candy Cane was about to begin.
He added 3 thin red stripes to show off the Trinity,
and smiled when a shepherd`s staff he could he could also see.

To show that Jesus shed his blood for he
loved us all so much,
One big red wide stripe was added as the finishing.
With every Christmas Carol and with every candy cane,
he wanted to be HOLD THE LORD AND PRAISE HISHOLY NAME.

Expressed so well, so long ago by the candy maker,
the love of the LORD is for every willingtaker.
In this CHRISTMAS SEASON when you see a CANDY CANE,
know there is a reason why the baby Christ Child came,
" O COME ALL YE FAITHFUL"- LET EVERYBODY SING,
Lets celebrate this season, In HONOR OF THE KING...

Oh so satisfying is the season of fall,
October is the best month of all.
My tan is top notch after weeks of sun.
The leaves brilliant with colorful fun,
Pumpkins , apples and trick or treat,
A flow of whimsical characters to meet,
Bikers invade; baseball is in full swing,
The cooler air welcomes open windows again.
Frisky spunk spreads like a woven tapestry,
Laughter and easy going moods set free.
My birthday begins a month long celebration,
Filled to the seams with autumn infestation.

A deserted beach,
Footprints in the sand,
Just the two of us,
Walking together hand in hand.
A gentle breeze,
Water so clear and blue,
With white tipped waves,
Spending time alone here with you.
It's late afternoon,
And the sun is sinking low,
The air still warm,
No reason why we have to go.
Let's stay longer,
Maybe we can watch the sun set,
Sit here on the sand,
Our troubles for a moment, we'll forget.
Sitting on the shore,
With you so close by my side,
Watching the horizon,
And the slowly receding tide.
An orange red glow,
Slowly spreads across the calm sea,
The beauty of nature,
On display here for you and me...

Cram my scuffed Samsonite into the old gas-guzzler.
Glance intrepidly at same-same in rear-view.
Venture into unfamiliar territory on journey of discovery.
Heightened sense of awareness: Wonder how that got there?
Chin-wag with waitress in greasy spoon.
Toss map, ignore directions:
Get lost to find myself.

still mist soft rain without a sound

looks like its raining cats and dogs
some rains help you sleep like a log

those hard annoying rains may be the worse
having no rain at all would be a curse

throats of masses singing passions.
Bosom heavy magnificent replenish.
Heated breath beckons with her every summons.
Silky satin, rainbows, her bows, on the ground,
She’s a master of ballets, a mover, a shaker!
Divine resplendent visions , painting earthly canvas.
Spring is building up , to burst , to over flow,
splashing majestic brilliance to behold.
Mother nature screams to every entity…
“Hold me with welcoming open arms, now
