How is your weather?
Hi,
It is cold here tonight -- 63 degrees right now. :) That's cold for us, especially since it was warmer than usual all February. Tomorrow will be cold too -- 47 degrees sometime tonight. I need to find something to wear to work that looks ok. Mari |
It's snowing AGAIN - more snow Friday - snow yesterday - big wet sloppy flakes - have had snow cover since before Christmas -
|
Oh I would love it that warm here.
Its in the teens and low 20's. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr. Snow, rain and sleet. Are we ever going to see a sign of spring. Donna |
Mari,
I would like it to be that warm here too as it was colder here today but not as cold as some other parts of the country. befuddled2 |
Mari, were you effected by the power outages?
cooler temps last 2 nights but warming 60'70's over the weekend. bizi:) |
no electric across much of S. Florida
Bizi,
I still don't know what happened --- something about a power switch being thrown and then the rest of the system (including 2 nuclear power plants) shutting down. I was fine. My work place kept power so I stayed at work long enough to be reasonably sure that they traffic lights were back up and it was safe to drive home. Thanks for asking. Mari |
Mari
Glad you weren't affected. Its still freezing here. Supposed to warm up some over the weekend. maybe I'll get lucky. I had a really off day, also forgot my walking stick, which was not good. I got so dizzy and off, I thought I was going to pass out at PT, and they helped me sit down. It was not good. Donna |

wow that is cold pam!
hope you do have warmer weather this weekend! bizi |
Pam,
I've lived in apts and almost never have to put on the heat. The neighbor's below and on the side end turn on their heat and their heat leaks into my place so that sometimes I feel hot even without my own heat on. It's already starting to warm up for good in Florida -- I think we might have one more cold-ish front coming in a few days. M. |
LOL!!
It got up in the 50's here and we all think it's a heat wave. :D My hubby is even golfing. I heard about the power down there in Florida. I am glad you didn't have to deal with that Mari. Scarey situation though. One little glitch, and POOF. I hope we don't warm up too fast out here. The snow pack levels are through the roof this year, and if it heats up quick, the whole valley will be under water. (Used to be an inland ocean way back before the dinasaurs, so it gets a little sloppy at times.) Look up Utah and 1983. You will see the streets running like rivers and peoples homes completely under water. |
 WOW that is so cold.................our lowest, where I live is about 4 degrees but further down south they can get to -1 deg. Wev'e had the best summer for years here in New Zealand, nearly every day has been 27 deg.
|
Welcome, Muzzy!
I had to look up 27 Celsius and came up with 80 degrees F. That is nice. I love summer. Sometimes I wish I could live somewhere where summer lasts all year. M. |
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
It was warmer some. But its still cold. But can someone tell the deer's were its raining now. They found my son's car last night. We are not having much luck. His didn't have full coverage. Donna |
Dear Donna,
What happened to the car? Was your son in it? I hope that he is all right. M. Oops. I just read your post explaining. |
It sounds like he was taking his girl to the emergency room. For a sprained
ankle. And now she has to see a orthopedic too. She has had surgery on this foot before, and has been having problems with it. But the deer's thanks to the floods in our area of Indiana are really bad right now. And he was on a 4 lane highway headed home. And one found him. I don't have a clue how he could have kept from hitting the stupid thing. Because you go to slow and your breaking the law, and you also aren't safe. Its just a no win thing. But hopefully my husband and he can make it look like new. Its really disheartening because this is almost exactly the time of year he totalled his car last year. When in ice the lady without insurance was doing things like going across three lanes. And it took 3 months for him to get his check and new wheels. So this is really a bad thing for him. But no one was hurt. And the car is still drivable but insurance rates is the problem I'm betting he is thinking. Donna |
Hi,
It got cool here again -- 54 degrees right now early in the morning and expected to get to 72 in the day. I like cool weather. The longer the cool weather lasts, the longer it takes to get to our hot summers. I went to the beach earlier (9:00 pm Saturday) with my girlfriend. We walked, ate a pizza, and then sat near the water on the sand. It was pitch dark out and windy. We lasted 20 minutes sitting! We needed a big blanket if we were going to sit in the chilly sea breeze any longer -- or we needed to get up and keep moving and walk. M. |
Warm here, in the 70's, and going up and up this week.:)
Our nights are still a bit chilly, but that too will change soon. We are at that point, we don't need heat, and we don't need AC YET!!:) So, it's open windows, which feels good, because it doesn't last long enough, get's hot hot hot fast. It's a dry heat as they say, no humidity. Have to drinks lots and lots of water. Nikko:grouphug: |
We finally hit the 30's today. That was our heat wave.
Man I would love another day like that. Donna |
the weather has been something for you folks in Indiana....
burr!!!! bizi |
90 degrees here today! That is warm even for us.
And it felt warm. M. |
cooler weather
We have cooler weather coming in.
That means I might need a sweater one morning next week. As much as I love summer, I also love when it gets postponed a little. M. |
Hi all. It's autumn here in Australia and the days are getting cooler. Highs of about 65-75F at the moment, but bound to plummet soon.
We're checking around now to get the best prices to get the gas cylinders filled for our heating, and have recently put the electric blankets back on the bed. I do so hate winter! http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...her/Frozen.gif |
It is so interesting that our seasons are flip flopped. Will you be getting any snow or just cooler temps?

We rarely get snow anywhere in Australia, unless you live in the highlands. Some states do however get plenty of ice and frost. Sometimes I think I'd prefer snow as it always seems warmer when it snows, than when it's very frosty. I live in the southern most state, so will get the worst of the cold weather. We've recently moved from closer to the equator, and this will be the first winter we'll have gone through in about 15 years, because the winters in the northern states are so very mild.....rarely dropping below 60F where we lived. Brrrrrrr! :( Come on spring. |
burrrr! that does sound cold...I live in a southern state but here in the usa the further south you go the warmer the climate...so it only freezes here a few times during the winter and rarely snows in the north part of the state not here....I grew up in Indiana and we had lots of snow and cold...that I have had enough of it for a life time!
But we do travel back over the christmas holidays and usually see snow then. The winter has dragged on for far too long this year in the midwest...still talking about cold temperatures ...poor people. Do your moods fluctuate with the different seasons? bizi |
Quote:
Not my moods bizi, but I have MS and I do find that it worsens in the colder weather. I'm actually an interloper in your forum, but hope that no-one will mind :) Not only are our seasons back to front compared to the States, but my symptoms are back to front as well. Most people with MS find their symptoms get worse in the heat, but I just had to be different :D |
Can someone find spring and summer, and tell it that its missed Indiana.
It seems to think we are foreign country. I'm tired of this mess we are getting. Donna |
Of course you are welcome koala!:)
Donna are they still talking snow? This is the middle of april. my twin lives in INDY and she said that it has been bad since oct. how dreadful for you guys:( I just finished my taxes...last thing that I had to do was figure out how to get those coupons that you use to pay quarterly taxes. Mine never came in the mail....so I went to one of those hewlitt packard places and they printed off some of the coupons for me. So I am done. bizi |
You all will be mad at me for replying to this... but, I'm in San Diego... and it was 80 degrees and sunny here this weekend. I'm sorry you guys are still having snow and such lousy weather still! You should take a vacation here and escape!
|

That sounds so strange to me. The further south we go in Australia, the closer we are to Antarctica! Brrrr again :( Congrats on getting your taxes done....ours are due after July 1st. |
Okay, HIpp Hip hurray my husband finished our taxes early this
year. HE didn't even think of filing the extension he usually does. WOW> And I miss Washington DC. It was so nice there. Its so cold here. Donna |
Hi,
It is 75 degrees right now. Isn't it neat that we can know totally useless info in the middle of the night? Anyway, it will be 82 during the day on Sat -- a little cooler than normal for us. We are enjoying the time before the tropical-type weather and rain starts. Mari |
The weather here has been mainly sunny the past few weeks but never hot. This is a lovely time of year, although the summer is also great.
I always need a few weeks like this before I start working in the garden again. The soil has got to be dry of course, but also the sun has got to get a chance to lift the end-of-dark-season low for me. I do love gardening and seeding plants and such. I will likely plant two fruit-trees this fall, the places where I want to put them have not been ridded of a nasty, persistent type of weed yet. |
We have record heat.
Dry weather. Fires nearby and now health warnings about going outside because the wind is blowing the smoke over the city. We are hoping for rain. M. |
I hope you get some rain Mari.
:rain: |
missed the full moon
I had made plans to go to the beach tonight but the air quality is not so good.
Maybe in another day or two the wind will shift direction. We got a drop or two of rain earlier -- that's a start. :) M. |
One of the other forums asked about snow today, and we had our first fall of the season over-night! Only on the highlands though, and we can't see the mountain tops from where we live.
I assure you I don't need to see them to feel the cold. They say we'll probably have frost in the morning where I live. Here comes winter................Brrrrrr! |
Koala,
Are you in the part of the world where it snows in June? That is cool. Where I am it is hot and humid now. Every time I go out, I come back in the apt. sweaty and wet. I have to do more loads of laundry. M. |
Yes Mari, it's winter here for us and our coldest times of the year are June, July and early August.
June 1st was the first day of our winter, but look what DH found in the garden yesterday. ................................http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...ls1150x113.jpg Those spring bulbs have to bring promise of Spring weather just around the corner for us. |
