Sick...Bah!

I didn't feel too well all last week. Just thought it was the weather changes and stuff.....But, Nooooo, it's a UTI....Ughhhh!!

I woke up this morning and, of course Pal wanted out right away.. I get to the edge of bed and start to stand up.....not gonna happen....I keep trying and it is obvious that I have a fever..:o ..I tell dog to pee on floor...LOL.

I do finally get up and make it to my scooter and let Pal out, Just in time.. I call my PCP and beg him not to make me come into his office..... and the Angel calls an AB script to my Pharmacy. I turned on the A/C for the 1st time and went to bed.

The reason I'm telling you all this, is .. 1...to get your sympathy :D and 2...to remind you that not all illness is MS. So many times, when you're feeling bad and your MS symptoms are giving you he!! and you think you are starting an exacerbation, it's a UTI or some other evil infection.

I hope this Amoxycillin works fast...cause, I feel yucky poo..:p

beautytransforming 04-17-2008 08:15 PM

Sympathy (and lots of it) headed your way.

DH had a 104 temp yesterday. I told him to stay far away. The cause of my last relapse was a fever, so I am terrified to get sick now, especially because I am a bit run down.

Hope you feel better soon!!!

JessieSue 04-17-2008 08:32 PM

Actually Sal, I can totally relate......I'm calling my PCP first thing in the morning because I'm pretty positive I, too, have a UTI!!!! I've been feeling real poopy, and amongst all these different symptoms I've had working against me I know UTI is the cause of some. I have lots of bladder control issues, and UTI's have been a frequent, unwelcome visitor! :D

Taffy 04-17-2008 08:36 PM

Did he make it? Did Pal make it out the door?

Any hoo...you feel better real soon Sappy!

tovaxin_lab_rat 04-17-2008 09:10 PM

Hey Sal...I think I am running a sympathy fever for you! I've been in bed all day and my legs don't want to work either!

I am glad you got an rx from the doc and hope you get that UTI taken care of pronto! I know I don't have one, but I am run down and a tad bit stressed out...gee I wonder why!

Anyway, stay in bed and let's rest, otay!!!

Did Pal make it outside? Holly did...;)

Passing the cranberry juice to my pal Sappy....

sheena 04-17-2008 09:15 PM

I'm sorry Sally. I hope u fell better soon. I've had what I thought was non MS releted UTI. They are no fun at all. I wish u the best. Lots of Love Sheena

AfterMyNap 04-17-2008 09:20 PM

Aw, dangit, Sal. Didn't we have a pact that no one would get sick for awhile? Get off the computer and get your butt back in bed! Get a dog door!:hug:

Hey Sally,

I'm sorry you are feeling so cruddy. The last thing you want to do when you're feeling sick is clean up dog pee!

I hope you are feeling better soon! :):):)

Sally,

(1) you definitely have my sympathy  - UTIs are evil.

(2) Thanks for the reminder. It's so easy to blame how we feel on the MS when there could be something else going on.

Hoping the antibiotic kicks in real soon.

SandyC 04-17-2008 10:16 PM

What is this? Jim has a fever tonight too! Is this what they call a computer virus? teehee

Seriously, hope you feel better soon Sally! We need you here.

Erin524 04-17-2008 11:06 PM

A few weeks ago when I had the hot/freezing cold toes and my foot had a bad case of the tingles AND was also seriously numb, I went and saw my regular doctor (the ever-adorable Dr. C...*sigh* He's eye candy)

First thing I did was have them check me for a UTI. (totally clean!) Since that's usually a regular suspect for triggering a pseudo.

Then I had him check my ears, nose and throat just to make sure I didnt have anything else running around causing me the problems. Turned out it was probably an infection in my mouth that I either had just before having dental work or was caused by some dental work. I had a nasty fever for a few days before visiting Dr. C. The infection probably had gotten into my lymph nodes in my throat somewhere and were making me feel all poopy.

So, if you dont have a UTI, is it possible you've got some sort of nastiness lurking around somewhere else?

SallyC 04-17-2008 11:15 PM

Thank you all for your sympathy and I am so sorry that some of you are not feeling so pretty well either. :(

Anyway, Pal waited for me, very impatiently, but him was a good doggy..:p Hey, you didn't ask about me....but, I made it too..:o

I had a nice nap, after taking my Meds and am only up for a bit. Gonna hit the hay again soon. 'll be better tomorrow, I hope!!

I love you guys..:grouphug:

weegot5kiz 04-18-2008 04:38 AM

Serious hugs going out to both of you......

*entering thread w/mask and gloves on*

Sorry, it took me so long to see this, Sal. I was busy disinfecting my PC. A girl CAIN'T be too careful.

Sorry to hear about the UTI. Sounds miserable. My DD had a really severe one and I felt so bad for her.

What is this w/the cooties going around? My DH is sick w/sinus and cold now, too.

Feel better Sal! Feel better everyone!!!
:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

tkrik 04-18-2008 10:25 AM

(((Sally))) I hope you start feeling better soon. Once the temps start going away you will be able to feel at least some relief from the symptoms.

In the meantime, rest up and know that I am praying for you that you will feel better soon, like yesterday!

What the heck are you doing? Those are condoms from that other thread.

*shaking head*

Sorry about that, all you little sickies, she means well, she just ain't right.

lady_express_44 04-18-2008 11:04 AM

Sorry to hear you have a UTI, Sally . . . but hoping you caught it early enough to not have serious consequences from it.

Get better soon.

(For those who don't already do this, I have found it very helpful to always lean to either side once I am finished urinating. I can usually get a fair bit more out that way . . . which helps to empty so that it doesn't 'fester' and cause infections.)

Cherie

Hello Sally,
I'm sorry I just am getting around to seeing this now. My computer has a virus too, and is in the shop, so I am using Michael's. (I'm sure it's not a UTI though) I hope by now you are feeling a tad better. Rest up, drink plenty of water, and take your Amoxil. We need our "SAPPY" around here.

All the best,
Chris

Kick that UTI to the curb, Sal. You know I'm thinking of ya, too!

:hug::hug::hug::hug:

Anyone else care to report??? How are you all?? :grouphug:

Jappy 04-22-2008 09:19 AM

Thought I would visit Sal today. Hope you are feeling better.

I am feeling stronger today.

The sun is out and it is supposed to reach the high 60's today. This
news helps to put me in a good mood.

Sally be better and will catch up with you another time.

Jappy

SallyC 04-22-2008 10:36 AM

Thank you all for your kind thoughts. :grouphug:

This is a stubborn one, so I may have to get a stronger AB. I have today and tomorrow left to take the Amoxilcillin so I'm praying it goes away..:Girl(angel-flying):

SandyC 04-22-2008 10:44 AM

Hey Sal, I feel you. The other day when Jim was running a temp he was only three days off his AB. I made the executive decision to refill the med (augmentin) and do one more round. Ugh, UTI's really make ms act up that's for sure. I hope you get relief soon!
