AMN Ain't Right :Scratch-Head:
Ok I saw this on another thread but didn't want to hijack it. and I have to say thanks alot because now I can never look at a box normally again!
What the heck is Uncle Ben's Perverted Rice?????? |
Once again AMN has "perverted" the truth: Uncle Ben actually has "converted" rice. Don't know if his door got knocked on by missionaries or what. :D
Cindy, you don't really have perverted rice in your pantry, do ya? |
Well what the heck is converted rice? Did it used to be Catholic? I buy alot of rice you can tell!
|

Have you SEEN her pantry, Twink??? Not only does she have "perverted" rice......she's got VIRGIN olive oil!!! And while all this is going on.....she's got Prince Albert in the can!!!! |
Renee - You're JUST figuring this out now. Heck, we all knew she wasn't right but we love her any way. LOL
Scary to think what it was converted from. I was thinking along the lines of maggots as that is what rice can look like. There I ended the run on rice. LOL. |
Well, in defense of my lil princess...Uncle Ben does have some "dirty" rice...maybe this was converted into clean white rice.:winky:
Prince Albert in the can...wonder what he's doin in there? Hope he puts the "lid" back down. I bought a can of Chock full of nuts...it turns out to be coffee!! I thought coffee was a bean!! My kids thought Potted Meat was something from a toliet when they were younger..lol They refused to eat anything that said potted on it. So you see, DM is not as 'insane' as you think...well but then that's just a Momma's point of view...:winky: |
lol renee the kind of rice that touches each other:bump:
I thought we can't get rice anymore |

AMN ...
I need some of that 'roadkill' helper ... I'm use to living off the land ... almost took out 2 turkeys today ... I honked the honk and the dumb bird came running towards the car!!! (she probably thought her boy-Tom was calling her or something!) |
If AMN ain't RIGHT~ Does that mean she's LEFT?
Where did we leave her? :D |

Then my cats wouldn't eat it either... What exactly IS "potted meat"? |

I always thought "potted" meant drunk. So does that mean you can get drunk from "potted" meat?:D:p
RW - I was watching DBF's cat once (not this time) and ran out of cat food. It was too early in the a.m. for me to be running out to the store so I thought I was being clever by giving the cat potted meat. She didn't eat it either. I have never had it before but apparently it is kind of spicy. I think we got it from food that was donated to us by our church. |

I think "SPAM Lite" means 1/3 less food value... so, that would be -1/3 of your daily intake. Hm, doesn't that then mean that you can eat 1/3 more each day? |

Ya'll listen, I grew up on potted meat. My mom bought that stuff like it was going out of stock! It always sat next to her can of sardines which she so eloquently ate with saltines. :vomit:
It wasn't until I was about 12 when I decided to read the label. You just have no idea what's in that crap: Can anyone say mechanically separated chicken, beef hearts, and partially defatted cooked pork fatty tissue? For those who are wanting to be in the know: mechanically separated poultry is a paste-like poultry product made by forcing crushed bone and tissue through a sieve or similar device to separate bone from tissue. Now you know. Maybe this should have been in the WHUH? thread. lol |

:mfr_wha: :vomit2: :Sorry: |

I admit to Spam-what-am, but that's it.
Eeeewwwww.. |

That reminds me of the good old days when a fried Spam sandwich, Mac & Cheese and a Pepsi was the basis of my college diet. And then there were those "party nights" when we had Top Ramen Noodles, some fruit that we "liberated" from the University arboretum and a beer. We lived like kings....so we thought. But perception is all that matters... The alternative and more common diet at the time was popcorn and coffee for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Now, at I can eat any of those things (but wtill love coffee). -Vic |
I have never eaten spam nor do I intend to same goes for those vienna sausage things!
|
Don't even ask what is in spam. lol

Have you tried any of those MRE's? The stuff in those lovely packages taste better...but that is only becuase the DoD has changed the names of the ingrediants. For example, "Pot Roast" is really reconsituted C-rations from 1943. Anything that had "stew" in the name was always made with some "potted" stuff (stuff does not mean necessarily that it was a meat!), and then there was always the lasagna...made in a place where shoe leather was mysteriously missing from the region and there were no rodent problems in the manufacturing facility). Oh, the days of MRE's are the same as the days of potted meats...it's just that the lables and packaging were changed! (And..my buddies always wondered why we got a a small bottle of Tabasco and a packet of Chicklets in every MRE...) LOL -Vic |
Ahhhh, but the peanut butter was pretty good!
|
Now that is just NASTY! Now what am I going to have for lunch? LOL.
