Whine Tasting Thread,,

It's been awhile since I had a good whine, so here goes.....

I don't like this #$%$#@ disease, one little bit.. We have marvy threads going about what MS has taken away and given back, but I just want to whine about things.:p

I'm having a bit of a flare....I don't really have attacks anymore and have been at a platteau now for years, but lately, I have been having a heck of a time just standing up. Weak and shaky.

This puts a fear in my mind, because of my age and living alone. I don't want that to ever end. I like my life right now. God has been kind and has allowed me the strength to get around here on my own ( with a little help from DD & Family)

You great Peeps keep me company every day and fill my life with fun and happiness. I don't know what I'd do without you All..

Let's all get together and say a little prayer, that Sally may stay strong for years to come, so she can stay where she is....:grouphug: Thanks.

Next Whine..........:)

Prayers going up right this minute Sally!! I know the feeling well......every time I have an episode that affects my walking, balance, etc. it puts the questions in my mind about what I would do if I couldn't stay alone anymore. :(

But.....worrying about what "might happen" is, IMHO, pointless and just a waste of energy. Not saying that I don't ever do it.....I just try really hard not to 'cause MS or not life is going to happen and I intend to stay as much a part of it as I can. I'm not goin' down without a fight!! :p

Now....I will whine about how HOT it is here!!! Gonna be in the 90's this week. Hot and humid......

SandyC 06-02-2008 11:23 AM

Well, my whine isn't ms related but can I do it just the same? Why is it everytime I get ahead something pops up to set me back? Why did my freezer konk out and cost me $278? Why is my mom talking behind my back and why do I care? She had brain surgery, she isn't right, right? And someone please tell me how it got to June 2nd already???????? :Scratch-Head::Sob:

:Thanx:

Thank you Sally. :D

barb02 06-02-2008 11:56 AM

I have been in a nasty mood for several days. I also hate this ************* disease, and I too fear that I will not remain independent. I detest having to ask friends to take me to med appointments when I have been told not to drive. I want to remain teaching, and do not want to have to move back to my hometown (where some of my siblings live) which is an economically, depressed area of Ohio that has become a bit of a ghost town. I hope to be able to move to Austin, Texas when I retire (not forced to quit)even though it is as hot as **** there. My younger sis and her family live in Austin, and I love it there.

I also can't stand waiting for the results of medical tests. My colonoscopy showed 3 polyps on Wednesday and my doctor said that one looked pre cancerous. I am also waiting for the reults of my MRI this past Friday. I definitely do not like feeling helpless at times.

Sally, Hope you are feeling better soon, and hope you realize what you did by granting us permission to whine.:D You opened a HUGE bag of worms!

PS: I did have to do this five years ago but it still doesn't make me feel better.

barb02 06-02-2008 02:48 PM

Sandy, Just wanted to let you know that I am hoping that all is okay. I always have to have extra films and have had both an ultrasound and breat biopsy and all was normal. It does seem like we are all dealing with an awful lot lately. We all need a break!!!

Hi Sal and everyone~ AYUP~ Had a lil whining practice myself lately.

I despise having hip and back pain... I despise not being able to just take off and go where I want to BECAUSE I want to and BECAUSE I can~~

Loved the graphic, Frank~ that was cute.

Try not to worry Sandy~ I'll keep you in my prayers.

PS: AMN~ you owe $1,999,999.00 in the cuss jar at a quarter a pop!! :sad-dollar: :ROTFLMAO:

Just wanted to say thanks for all your good thoughts and prayers. They're working..:) I feel a bit stronger, this morning..

It may be the crappy weather we are having...first sunny and dry, then, in a second, storming and humid, then back to sunny and dry. The Temp is also rising here....in the 80s now..,,goodbye Spring..:(

I hope today finds you all a bit better, too....that means my prayers are working..

SandyC 06-03-2008 12:18 PM

Hi Sally,
Glad to hear you're feeling a bit stronger today. The up and down temps and changes in barometric pressure seem to always bother me too. Seems like we have about the same weather. You're in my prayers too.

Yep, and the bad news is, It's going to be in the 90s for the rest of this week and into next.. It's likely going to be the same in Penn.:(

Did you get any of those tornado yielding storms last night/this morning? Wow, Heavy, scary stuff.

barb02 06-04-2008 01:06 PM

Storms were pretty scary down here last night. We have been lucky (knock on wood or my head) in that the tornados have been north of here. (Champaign area) We are supposed to get more today:( I just saw that the temp on Monday is supposed to be 95 here.

Dejibo 06-04-2008 01:10 PM

For the most part New Hampshire tends to be pretty cool. I live in the woods near the lake, so we are not hot like a city would be. This week, we hit some sort of a hot spell, and WOW, I had almost forgotten how bad heat made me feel.

I woke up this morning, sweating, but feeling like it was humid, not hot. Cracked my dry eyes open to find...yep, its rainy. in the 50s and rainy! its hot one day and chilly rain the next.

its supposed to get VERY hot this weekend. The hubby put the AC in the window! yea hubby!

We've had a tornado warning hmm I guess it was 2 days ago, but luckily no tornado, just thunder and lightning. Starting Saturday it's going to be in the 90's here and will stay that way for at least a week. It's too early for it to get that warm. Since MS, I absolutely hate the heat. The humidity we get here bothers me more than the heat though.

SallyC 06-05-2008 11:25 AM

We didn't have any touchdowns either, thank heavens, just lots of warnings and sirens screeching all night.

87 today...90+ tomorrow...UGH!!!!

Anyone else looking forward to Fall? LOL!!

sassy 06-06-2008 07:46 AM

Sal, may you always be able to keep your independence!!

And my whine is also the weather, grrr...I hate to wish my life away so not wishing for the fall to be here just the fall temps! 65 is just perfect for me.

SallyC 06-06-2008 10:26 AM

65 sounds good to me too, Sassy..:) However it will be in the low 90s today and tomorrow, here....NOT my cup of tea..

I know what you mean, about time passing too fast.. It seems to go faster as you age. I guess I'm on a downhill roll..:D
