See if you can figure out what this gadget is for.

lol something from the spanish inquisition at first i thought i look like some kind of cheese cutter? I dont know am dying to find out what it is
|
Sorry, Frank -- it's not a cheese cutter. ;)
|
Some nail or cuticle (sp?) cutter or trimmer. Some obscure object that someone gives as a gift and, yet, falters when it comes to letting the recipient know what the gift is?
Will we know what these objects are? or just keep guessing? Just wondering :). |
some kind of garnishing tool? makes cucumber skins turn into a rose? :p
|

I actually DO know what this one is!!! But I'm hoping someone will guess by this time tomorrow. I ordered it from eBay -- it's prolly about 30 years old. Maybe more. |

Another thought: When in H.S., and into ag. stuff, I used to take care of one of my teacher's horses. Such an object was also used for trimming the horses' shoe-stuff.
So, maybe it's something used for shaving: Human or animal. ... and, as I dare say ... The horse was aging but was beautiful! :D |
cuts corn off the cob?
|
Teacher's pet, eh, Bobbi? Nope, not close yet. It's not very heavy duty.
Nope, not for corn. It's job is very specific, though. |
An eyelash curling object. Archaic? Maybe. But what the heck.
|
shaves the fuzz off of peaches?
:p |
is it food related?
|

It might help you to know that the coin beside it is a quarter. Too big for eyelashes and not for peaches. But I love your creative guesses! Yes, it IS food-related. |
its not something used in working leather is it?
|
Quote:
Okay, what about a leather-working tool? I'm not giving up :). |
Wow, Bobbi and Frank -- you're both thinking leather. Nope, it is not a heavy-duty tool. Too wimpy for that.
If you look carefully, you'll see that part of it can move. |
greens chopper?
|
Two of us thought leather-working tool. I was typing my thought and saw the other after I hit reply. So cool!
|
something to wind yarn around
|
i take it, that it swivels and that the handle stand up?
|
Is it a bone shaver?
Something a physician would use? Maybe cutting bone. Meat? Butcher? Coroner? |
Nope, it's not sharp enough to chop.
Good guesses, all of you! If I didn't already know what it was, I sure wouldn't know what to guess! C'mon, someone! |
or some sort of pasta cutter trying to picture the shape it would make
|
This is sick, but... I also dreamt of being spliced to death as I slept last night:
The better the spin, the deeper the cut. Meat cutter/trimmer. |
Quote:
Mmmmm, you keep the handle in your hand and yes, it will swivel. (Not sure if that's the best word for it, though.) |
Ahh, a canola (sp?) maker. It does spices. Better than Martha Stewart. It minces.

Frank, you're thinking in the right direction. |

|
I'm just warped.
Is it used for blending dough with other ingredients? Kneading? |

Thank goodness, with this object, at least you know what it is :D.
I'd ask the boss for a take-sy back-sy on the other :). |
