OT: Geek Tawk
well, to all the geeky techno enthusiasts...
I have questions, tons and tons of questions...and would love inputs, no matter how absurd you think it is...would just love to hear them... of course, this is off topic anyways...so join anytime... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ alrighty, here is what I've been thinking a lot of... I O or binary code in the puter world, IO (or 1 and 0) is used to represent everything. (of course, you all know this already but just wanted to lay it out a bit to where I am going with all this. :) ) I for ON O for OFF and of course, they are logged into base 8's...Then gateways and blah blah blah... this is what is interesting...we are using base 8's to calculate base 10's. Of course, behind it all, really base 2's to signal base 8's to calculate base 10's. And that is what is interesting as I am reading through all these philosophy books... all things end in sync... chaos and order Yin and Yang Positive force and negative force all these could be represented by 1 and Zero or IO Einstein's thought of STR (Special Theory of Relativity) supports the IO partially... the relativists (Einsteinians) believe that there is no "NOW" which is supported by quantum physics and quarks. That there is no absolute and absolute state of rest. Meaning that now you see it and now you don't happens at the same time If one was to put that into theory using simple math, it's true. for example. how many numbers can we fit between the numbers 1 and 2. INFINITE...that means that if we apply that to time, there is never a NOW.... another example of that is, as soon as I think of something, it's already in the past, but before I thought of it, it is in the future, where exactly IS the NOW?? but for true believers of "Now" (Newtonians mostly) believe that there IS a NOW. using simple math again: 1.5 (an absolute between 1 and 2) but now, there is a problem with that. If there IS a "NOW" , then there would never be a past or future cause "NOW" is defined... for example, I am thinking of the word, "NOW" and it is thought of, and it is right at 1.5. Now there is a problem, where would "NOW" go? How does it flow(time wise)? "NOW" would now be in the past and be in the future cause it is here, now...LOL Am I confusing you? Yeah, I am confused myself... and please feel free to correct me if I have posted incorrect information or outdated information.. for me, I like the balance of yin and yang, some call it Tai-Chi (Chi in this case does not mean force or gas,but polarizations) I like that there are opposites but it goes around in circles. And that there are now in the past and future in the present yet it just continues to go around in circles where everything is in continuity. Past and now and present all spinning... I think the Newtonians and Einsteinians should stop arguing and actually combine the two sciences and I think they'll progress more... of course, now we are getting close to finding out about the 10th dimension and we don't even understand the 4th dimension yet...sheesh... well, anyways...any input would be great, even if you think I am nuts...LOLOL |
Right on bro!!!
I think now is whenever we want now to be lol. It even gets weirder when you start looking at string theory :D Can you imagine a dozen you's and maybe more all running concurrently in different timelines? So will ther real me please stand up! |
whoa - you guys are way over my head with this stuff:confused:
have fun with it:D |
I had to take a lot of math classes though it was tough for me. I love the way it works, but I can't use it the way you all do. I wish I liked it so much that it would be sort of like poetry for me to think about it. :) I do get logic, and I like lots of the accounting stuff, but calculus!

kewl!! LOL yeah, the string theory is really cool on paper. Someone has explained it to me like this: you know how we used to draw those animated stick people at the bottom of our text books cause we always fell asleep in Physics? And then we start to flip them and they come alive. Each one of those pages is a now. But each one of those pages still remains. So each one of those figures are now individuals although they were drawn to represent one... me thinks you and I need to go visit Superman and find our bizzaros...LOLOL ~~~~~~~~~ oh, come on, Jo!! Anything... and Wiz, come on...give us an accounting view of now...LOL as in, if we don't pay our taxes "NOW" what would happen?? and where is Bobbi with her "whuzit" answers? LOLOL Old Stevie?snoozie? Mel? Pamster? Curious? Bearygoody? Even nappy? Although me thinks Nappy will just want to tawk about MAC's now....then we'll have to sMACk her... ;) |
Well if my memory serves me right...which it doesnt most of the time :D
They say there is only 10 dimensions maybe more. I think there is probably infinite strings, heck no one really knows how large the universe is or really how small we are in comparison. What is BIG to us might amount to something infintesimally small in the big picture of the way things are in the universe. Some things like the meaning of now is all in the perception of the individual, or in the way the word is used in a sentence, but still up to the interpretation of the reader. You know...we probably will never know how many dimensions there are until someone or something that lives in one of these unseen dimensions jumps out and shows it self, or grabs us  I think we get glimpses of these other dimensions when we see things move in our peripheral vision, or by watching Ghost Hunters LOL. But are we seeing these things move right then....our now, or was it a hundred, or even a thousands years ago that this moved and we are seeing it in our now??? Like when a star blows up that is a gazillion light years away and we see it right now, but really it happened before our planet even existed!! ACK!!!!! My dilithium crystals are on melt down! :p Quote:
|
sorry jo has a cold and her brain is not fully functional at the moment.
plus I have to pack up the new tv and return it already- the screen started having weird flickers at the top and bottom after only a day of use- oh well I get to try another brand:( oopsie got of topic LOL- I think you're Ok with that:grouphug: |
Awww dang jo. Maybe you should just switch it for another, maybe it was just a freak messed up thing with only that TV?
I wish I would have bought one of those new fangled tv's before my backpay ran out, but am glad I bought the projector. Been havin sooo much fun taking it out and showing movies at friends and families houses. Last week we set it up oin a friends back yard and shot it across his pool! We all sat in his pool and watched the movie...it was great!!! Hmmmmm......In the movie was Will Smith actually acting right then...our now, or was before that??? Hmmmmm ??? Keeping it on topic :p |
OK, you lost me at: "I for ON, O for OFF" and then I picked back up at "And that is what is interesting as I am reading through all these philosophy books...
all things end in sync... chaos and order Yin and Yang Positive force and negative force" The rest was amusing as well as thought provoking. Thanks. Allen - I read an article a while back in either my Scientific America or my Discovery magazine about string theory. Let's just say I was lost!!! lol My dad however was reading some book about it and was enjoying it. He did say it was rather complex and he had to really sit back and think it through. |
Allen you are right the string theories are really deep, wasn't it through string theory they proposed that you could possibly say there are parallel universe's?
|
Quote:
The question is which you is the one in the here and now??? LOL I love this stuff! The possibilities are endless, and your really never wrong or right for that matter  |
This all reminds me of the movie "The One" with Jet Li. He runs around killing all his other selfs in different dimensions growing stronger with each kill until he is "The One" left.
Maybe I should take a nap and try to tap into my other selfs in other dimensions so I can tap into their intelligence, and steal it all for me Muwahahahahahahaa!!!! :D Maybe we can find our bizzaro! LOL |
I'll just answer the last question in Moi's first post on this thread.
AYUP, I think your'e nuts. Carry on! http://dl5.glitter-graphics.net/pub/...k7x21qvaxv.gif |
LOLOL, yep yep yep...
the answer IS: there are NO right answers... I wasn't looking for an answer vs. what everybody thought of this stuff... and yeah, the string theory is so deep and yeah, I think that is where all the parallel universe theory evolved from... I try to go back to the basics: for example: think of the biggest number you can think of, and you can still add "1" to it everything really is on "PLUS" "1" basis. 1+1+1+1+1 and it goes on and on and on...all the other theorems are kinda based on this simple concept. another thing that I just thought of since Allen brought up the string theory, is animation. it started out that the simple animations used to use 8 frames per/second now the standard is 32 or 64 and I've heard some crazy rumor that they are going to attempt 128 frames/second wow...but it can go on and on and on..on a per second basis: check out this photo below: http://www.wildwestweb.net/flicks/carriage.jpg it is done on a 12 frames per second basis. imagine 128 of those per second. I think part of string theory is based on that basis. Every split second, there is a fork (decision) for example. I wake up. I want to have coffee or tea. I am debating. But I decided to have tea. Would there be another me in the alternative universe that drank coffee instead? And if I had drank this tea and it made me sick and then made me miss work and then blah blah blah then, would the other me that drank coffee had a nice day but taking that in micro scales, would mean each second, our decisions can take us to an alternative universe thus making billions of us (I think Allen used Dozens to make the numbers easier to swallow) in different universes running around and each of them making more decisions and blah blah blah but here is a thought...what IF whatever decisions and split ends and forks were made...ultimately takes us back to the SAME conclusion like, we can take different roads to go to Rome, but it ALL leads to Rome?? Gosh, I LOVE this stuff too!! LOL then there is the butterfly effect and Chaos Theory and all those other stuff and of course, the new "DM" theory where tinkerbell comes in and sprinkles her fairy dust and make us all nuts....LOLOLOL ;) hey DM, you are on the right track, you answered my last part...can you hear moi, NOW?? LOLOLOL |
string theory + can you hear moi now= http://i.ehow.com/images/GlobalPhoto...main_Thumb.jpg
|
Quote:
I think that's the CAN CAN Theory...hubba hubba...LOLOL |
btw, Allen,
if you find your bizzaro, you have to make sure he builds the worst computer he can ever build so you can keep on building the best computer for yourself... if I can find my bizzaro, you all would be so very lucky and this place would be much more quieter and peaceful... LMAO........... |
Hey Who Moi!!!
What is your IQ?? It must be in the stratosphere. Beam me up Scotty!!!!! lol |
Wow 128 per second!! The movement would be almost imperceptible to the eye from one frame to the next, but the clarity of the footage would be fantastic.
Quote:
Or is every thought the same, but each "you" comes up with a different decision causing every possible outcome to play out. Kinda like the all roads lead to Rome, and every road was taken. I am having so much fun with this computer!! The other day I was downloading an update for a game that took 2 hours, doing some photoshop work for a logo, while listening to (Led Zepplin) a cd through some headphones, and playing cartoons for the grandkids using the projector shooting it up on the wall behind me to keep them happy while I worked. And this was all at the same time, and the computer didnt even flinch, flicker or freeze up. This is absolutely amazing to me!! So far I havent been able to get it to stumble one bit. In the online games its performance is rock solid, even zoning from one zone to another faster than I have ever experienced ever. Seems my only bottle neck when it comes to online gaming is the speed of the dsl and the game servers LOL. Curious I love your string theory!!! Maybe I can get a hold of my bizzaro with those multi deminsional cell cans! :D |
Quote:
I do have to say that the folks that have posted here all have higher IQ than moi...Allen is extremely knowledgeable with these stuff. all except DM and curious..those two are in the DOH club...LMAO.... ;) :thud: LOL did you get your puter fixed?? |
Quote:
Bro that is funny!! You are a riot!!! |
Coffee? Tea? Slapping Moi on the forehead! Dude...you should of had the V-8!
Hey...I gave birth to a geek! They grow up and sit around with their friends and talk about string. Overhearing this sting talk, I think they need some, so I take them in a ball of string. Geez, I then am informed all about some string theory. I nod and smile. :Grin-Nod::BeamUp: |
didn't Edison use those film clips to prove a horses feet leave the ground, time space conundrums are mind boggling, the back to the future movies did a great job with all the time travel stuff
I mean in order for some one to have travel back in time to tell H.G. Wells all about our future, theoretically the future had to of happened which means the past was long gone. Although had someone from the future gone back it would of change the futures, past history..lol there are so many questions you can toss out there.... I love time travel movies |
Quote:
that means that even 512 or even 1024 frames/ second might be possible (maybe not in our life time) but this is where I was thinking: in real life, between zero and 1 second, for us people, how many frames are between those zero and 1 second? and if we dissect each frame, would each of those frames become it's own "person"? Quote:
dude, that is awesome to hear about your new puter...sounds like you need to build new modem to keep up with the speed of your puter...LMAO... |
Quote:
LOL Taffers, hey, get them in here!! Need more input!! Although, I am intrigued by the STRING CHEESE Theory also...how did they make all those little strings of cheese to stick together without melting into one nasty glob?? LOLOL now as for V-8, that would make things so much more complicated...we would now get into tomatoes, lettuce(are there lettuce in V-8? LOL), carrots and celery...now we would be in Veggie Tales Theory instead of String theory...:thud: Quote:
and you just brought up what I was going to ask next, what about time travel?? The reason why I was asking about the "NOW" was to see if anyone would then think Time Travel was possible... exactly my question about the future, if we can travel to the future, isn't it happening already? So are we in the past or are we in the future or are we now...LOL the reason for this thinking comes back to quarks... the basis of all matters... a quark is here and not here at the same time...meaning that now you see it but now you don't...but it isn't splitting, it is the SAME time...mind boggling... how can something be here and NOT here at the same time...SAME time... that is why the word "Buddha" in Chinese intrigues me... it is made up of the word, MAN and NOT it means, "here" and "NOT here" or "real" and "NOT real" at the same time... but that goes back to my original question: I/O kinda the same concept... I have found most legitimate religions' teachings are similar to I/O's (Now I am not an expert, and am not trying to explain religion, just an observation...) Alpha and Omega (inclusive with all inbetween) Daoist Ying and yang (same, inclusive between opposites or beginning and the end) and others which I am not too familiar of but am reading up on... gosh, so much to learn so little time! I love time traveling stuff also...I actually have thought of a way that might be possible...but that only works in my head...LOLOL Maybe one day I will be brave enough to share it... kewl dude, let's tawk about time travel! Do anyone think it's possible? LOL Or would someone like to throw me back to a time when I was not around...LMAO............ |

hey Trish, I is for electricity O is for DD16 who keeps on unplugging the electric clock... binary code 8 bits: 01101110 01100101 01110111 00100000 01110100 01101001 01110100 01110011 (trish, this is for your DD, LOLOL) ;) LOLOLOL |
Wow time travel!!!
You know string theory is kinda on the verge of proving that time travel could or could not be done. I was reading some stuff on singularities, gravity, and blackholes that mentioned things about uncovering time travel through these experiments. The article also mentioned the CERN lab as going to be on the cutting edge of proving or disproving these theories. Wouldnt time travel be great!! :D I would go back and leave myself notes at certain dates to tell myself to do, or not do certain things. Like I would put a note on the windshield of my truck on march 31st 2000 telling me not to go to the doctor, and if I do go dont let them do the angio that disabled me LOL. The only bad part is I would be tempted to leave notes with that weeks winning lotto numbers too  LOL. For those that are lost to all this geek talk you can go to the CERN website and learn in laymans terms about all this stuff we are talking about.:winky: http://public.web.cern.ch/Public/en/...nsions-en.html |
Sorry my little blue Moi friend...all those geekie geeks are off into the world of wonders.
Mine is in Hawaii and I don't know...the last time ...something about cloning something and I get a little lost on what his research is on...so it is nod and smile!:D |
I love time travel concepts they are so deep. Yeah Allen I saw that on the show about string theory, it was a strong argument in my eyes it made a lot more sense then any other explanation I have heard.
ok next geek idea am curious Moi do you watch shows on how the universe was formed etc.... the physicist Michio Kaku made some interesting comments on a show about the universe, about how most universes have two suns. also he commented on how the last planets are in the wrong place they belong down by us, which someone gave a so so idea how they got there. I wrote a question to Science Channel and him about, what if we did have two suns and thats what the Kipper belt is made out of a burned out sun, that might of imploded as a neutron star. and thus that would help explain the smaller planets so far from the sun, and would explain what the belt is made of. did you know there are also a few minor planets out that way? I never knew anything about Minor planets, I had never heard of them before this one show, Ceres, Pluto, Makemake, Eris, Mimas and Pallas. yes Pluto has been reclassified as a minor planet ...Aka Small Solar Systems bodies http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Small_solar_system_bodies no answer yet from him or SC |
Quote:
Yeah, I did both read and saw information about the twin suns and I think in the movie 2010, they discussed that concept and claimed that Jupitar might have been the "other" sun that is thawing out (which makes no sense cause Jupitar is a planet...but then again, it's been a long time since I've seen the movie so don't quote me on that) and there was this big argument about the minor planets and how people were petitioning to keep Pluto as the original 9...LOL (OK, getting off track here) I like your idea about the Kiuper belt: It jolted some ideas: OK, you know Gamma Ray are the only true Rays (where Alpha and Beta are just particles) Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson discovered and identified the background radiation of the universe. The Sun is the main gravitational pull in our solar system yet according to that show (History of the universe) the whole universe is spiraling out as a whole and on its own, but let's just take the on its own stuff for now) The kiuper Belt contains some major Plutinos and is on the outer Edge. If it was the remnants of a nertron star or Quark Nova it could leave strong Gamma Ray Bursts and if we can find those traces, your theory might be proven!! That would be pretty cool, eh? And even if we think of it as gravitational pulls, that might work as well, our planets especially Earth which contains life, are being "held" within the two Suns thus keeping our gravity in tact. of course, this is just my personal opinion and probably wrong as heckit but it sure is good to find folks to talk about it! LOLOL |
Quote:
bro, I know what you mean...LOLOL this is what I've found on string theory that propelled all these other theories: *String Theory and Quantum Loops At present, over 200 types of subatomic particles are thought to exist, although the evidence for some of these is sketchy at best. Particles such as the electron, which were previously not thought to be made up of smaller components, are said to be elementary particles. However, some physicists believe that even these particles are made up of quantum loop-type units called superstrings. These are thought to be billions of times smaller even than the fundatmental particles and are believed by many physicists to form the real fabric of the Universe. If true, this would provide us with a theory that could explain all creation (but don't hold your breath) (source: Infinity in your pocket) and since we have found that all particles are bascially made up of "up quark" and "down quark" (in theory) (back to I/O again, LOL) it sure can make string theory sound interesting. I'd like to go back in time and get that lottery number also...LOLOLOL btw, thanks for the CERN website...I have it saved in my favorites. :) ~~~~~~~~~~ Taffy, is your son cloning grandkids?? :D What kind of research does he do?? Whooo...moi likes reserachers!! :D:D:D |
I am not too sure I agree about the sun, they have been discovering that all the major galaxies have massive black holes in the center and everything seems to rotate around those. and supposedly in 2012 two days b4 my birthday (we are celebrating my bday 3 days b4 my bday in case the Mayans are right) the sun will be in the center of universe, near this black hole, its a 26000 yr cycle or was it an 11000 yr cycle, either way the sun being there and the polar shift always happen at same time which leads me to think the massive black hole has something to do with the shifting polar north and south, I hope its a slow process or we are all in big big trouble
yes it was the same show because the one scientist said he got all this hate mail about taking Pluto off the planet list lol |
i get it.
string theory + quantum loop = fruit loop necklace http://www.theideabox.com/images/ideaimages/8992.jpg |
yeah, that's true...
but wouldn't our own solar system have its own gravitational pull? kinda like pointalism. like a bunch of dots to represent the eye, those hold together. Then a bunch of points to represent the nose. those pull together but the eye and the nose have their own combined force attracting to one another...LOL man, this is exciting stuff....boy, learn things everyday...I am going to have to look that one up. :D that's what I am talking about, I get to learn new things!!!! :D :D :D |
Quote:
oh sure...can you make those froot loops quantum jump?? Send them back in time and make them fruits again or to the future and make them fruit cakes. LOL |
yes it does have its own gravitation pull, but our solar system is also manipulated by these super massive black holes, along with all the other stars in our milkyway, i love science talk lol
|
:Thats-Funneh: moi
fruit cakes are not from the future. there was only 1 made in 1375. it just keeps getting passed around year after year. i practice time travel. when grandmonkey wakes up into the wee hours and wants a drink of water...i say..." no it's tomorrow now, you can only have drinks today." i know, i'm a mean meme. :p |
Quote:
OK, let's say our solar system is equal to LIVER and one of those black holes equal to Brain the liver itself has its own cells that does its own work and the brain itself has its cells doing its own work but the brain controls the liver... OK, what if our solar system is just one small cell inside a huge gigantic giant whatever? LOL |
Quote:
LOLOLOLOL...you are right, fruitcakes are from the past....LMAO....as a matter of fact, I have one here from about five years ago...I was just wondering who in the future I should send it to...now I know...some monkey...LMAO... |
:vomit2:
bad bad visual. i think i'll go read and try and wrinkle my brain elsewhere. |
