Weekend Check In Time Saturday October 18

Hello People,
What's happening?
Do you have updates?

This weekend for me is about catching up on sleep, paperwork for work, and exercise.

I have also recommitted to my veggie diet and Weight Watchers. I lost three pounds the past 6 weeks even though I was not attending meetings or journaling my points. I'm so happy that I did not back slide. That makes it easier to go forward again and make a good effort.

Hi Mari,

Congrats on the weight loss. I joined WW also but have not been tracking my points lately. I do a lot of walking that helps me trim up. I can not go anywhere this weekend because my brakes are messed up.

last night Mike and I went to his sister's fiance's birthday get together, watched tv, ate pizza, played some guitar hero. it was the first time since me and mike broke up that i had seen any of the 'extended' family and i got really happy (even tho i feel like they dont like me but whatever)

i dont know what were doing today i just dread monday and school :(

Bdix 10-18-2008 10:34 AM

I picked up my neice this morning. She seems to be thinking a lot clearer. The new medication is working as of now which is great. She said her head is clear for the first time she can remember. She told the counselor that she didn't know her head was so cluttered until she started on this new medication and it finally stopped. (re-dx'd as bp2)

Our house goes on the market on Monday. Our realtor says he already has a few couples that are interested in it. I think I'll die if it sells right after hitting the market and we then have 30 days to do this move. But having it sell quickly would ease the "what if's" that are going on with me I suppose.

Advice time. How do I go about having a doctor ready to see the kids before we get there? Who do we call? I've never had to move this far from home; we moved 2 hours away right before we got the girls again, but I kept the same doctors and we drove.

Hubby leaves tomorrow for a few days to go to NY. Hes going to scout new homes inbetween meetings. I hope magically there is something there that just appears taht would be perfect. Hey, a girl can dream! :D

bizi 10-18-2008 11:54 AM

Bobi,
Is there a way to contact other moms in the area, like thru meet up groups online to ask about doctors? Have you heard of meet up groups?

Slept in late today...must have needed it.
Hubby and I have been tlaking about finances and we are starting to come up with a plan...he wants/needs a new guitar fo rhis work. So we are going to start saving for it. Which will take years to save but we really have to be smart and not be tempted to jsut take out a loan and buy one.
also am starting to contribute to my IRA....and a vacation account.
This is new territory for us.

WE have a concert to go to tonight and my neighbor has invited us over for a preconcert dinner.
remember the one that i told you about before, leslie, her husband passed away and she is very controlling.
I feel sorry for her....I feel like I have to be friends with her although I don't like to be seen in public with her, she is obnoxious.
anyway
She nicely told us what to wear and what to bring and what to drink....etc....ugh!
Hubby is putting up halloween decorations this is his time of the year.
skelatons are on the roof, the haunting is jsut beginning.
He picked out the biggest pumpkin!

need to go take a shower, my hair is crunchy from left over hairspray.
Have a great weekend!
bizi
oh saw a musical last night that was shocking....hedwig and the angry one inch...about a transvestite, rock musical....

Bobi,
I'm happy that your niece has a better dx and better meds.

A year and a half ago Highhatsize gave us a link to a data base of drs across the county that allowed patients to rate their drs. It was started by the same guy who was big at AOL.
The data base has not taken off yet -- people do not seem to be leaving reviews of their drs -- but here is his link:

Maybe talk to your current pdoc. He would have experience with people moving. He should be able to smooth the transition.

Dear Befuddled,
That's great that you walk. I have only been doing it once a week. Good luck with your brakes.

Dear Megveg,
Have you made friends with any of your teachers yet? Gone to see them in their office hours? Sometimes that helps to feel better about being in their class.

Dear Bizi,
That sounds like an amazing talk about money! I dislike talking about it and thinking about it -- probably the wrong approach.
Have fun at the concert. I have a goofy friend but at least she is not bossy.

not teachers really...
my math teacher: shes nice but not the talking type...
my bio teacher: doctor from greece, her accent is strong and seems very cold
english teacher: shes a space cadet she wouldnt even know what to do if i asked her anything
critical thinking teacher: she seems approachable but shes a mom and only teaches fridays so she doesnt have office hours and id feel bad reaching out and asking her for help because i can see when shes conducting class her life is hectic i dont wanna add to that.

the councelor guy is cool. i dunno

Dear Meg,
Do you have all female teachers? That is so cool.
When I was your age I liked the female teachers better than the male. I don't know why. I guess I felt more comfortable around them.

Well we had a nice time at my neighbors for dinner before the concert.
Beef stroganoff was great! She made it with cream of chicken soup!
Of course the symphony was wonderful, afterward we spent some time with our friends who are members of the orchestra, our best friends.

I forgot to tell you the other day I was on the phone with alffe wehn I happened to come upon a covered wagon with dockeys pulling it, very surprising, we don't usually see that in this area so that was really fun to see!

It is beautiful here today 70';s perfect blue skies, maybe we will go feed some ducks at the park...after our morning breakfast at a diner.

hope you have a good sunday!

yeah they all are female. i like female teachers too but my favorite teacher/the one i've connected to most was my junior year biology teacher and it was a guy. hes the type of teacher like in tuesdays with maury tho, like i plan on keeping in touch with him the rest of my life, hes a great guy in general.

but the weekend...after mikes sisters fiances birthday thing, we came home, mike had to work saturday during the day so i went to my friend lizzys house to help her mom out. mike came over after and we hung out there till lateish, then we went to this 'party' at my brothers friends house which was just like 10 ppl watching tv it was cool tho so i woke up this morning, and mike went off to hang with his friend whos about to have a baby (the due date was yesterday) his friend is so excited, ive never seen him so excited over something haha.

i dont know im sitting here watching dirty jobs and doing laundry for mike and i.
