Bannet very sick
 

Beth just called me and she is on her way to the hospital.

She has been not feeling well for awhile and then Friday she went to doctor because she had a terrible cold, flu, whatever. When they took her temp it was 103.8. Doctor gave her antibiotics and told her to go home and stay in bed.

I talked with her earlier today because her father has developed problems with his only existing kidney, he lost the other one to cancer. She was wondering if people with MS could donate a kidney. She sounded terrible and said she hadn't been out of her bedroom since Friday.

Then when she called a few minutes ago she had started vomiting blood and of course her doctor wanted her to go to emergency ASAP. She is really scared (who wouldn't be) and asked for my prayers.

So, now I am asking for your prayers for her.

As soon as I know more I will let you know.

PwMS aren't allowed to donate blood or organs in Canada. I don't know if the rules are the same in the US. :confused:

Thank you for letting us all know about her - I feel so bad that she is having to deal with all of this. It's no fun being ill any time of the year but especially in the Christmas season! Please keep us updated when you hear anything else!

They kept her!

She is having problems breathing, still throwing everything up not as much blood tho.

They did a tube down her nose last night but didn't find the reason for the blood. They are doing the one down her throat today which I guess is more thorough.

For those that know her and want to send a card she is in room 6020A, POH Regional Medical Center 50 North Perry St. Pontiac, MI 48342

I'm not comfortable giving her last name and I won't give out her phone # but she is so short of breath it is difficult for her to talk for any length of time anyways.

When I learn any more I will let you know.

Sassy - Thanks for the update on our poor Beth. Keep us posted as you hear. You are a really sweetheart for doing this for her and being there for her.:hug:

I just wanted to add to this that the hospital has a link so you can make a card and send it to Beth through them right to her room! The volunteers do it for you. How cool and loving is that?

Thanks Sandy, I just sent a e-card too. I wish more hospitals had that option.
