Sad Day For Me.

But good day for Doggy "Pal". I am sending him to live out the rest of his dear life with DD and Kiddles.

I could keep him here for me but he is stuck in the house, because of the stairs and ramps. He just can't get out and he misses it. He sits at the front door and sniffs the air at the bottom. It's so sad.

I admit he's a bit too much for me to handle now. He was doing well with going on his papers but he doesn't see well now and misses 3/4ths of the time. I do evrythg from my scooter and it's tough to clean up his messes 6 times a day, evry day.. Then I must sanitize the floor each time too.

But when I thought he was enjoying his life, I was willing to do it, but now I don't think he is. DD said she and kids would love to have him. They didn't want to bring him back when I came home from hosp. last year.:)

What do you think? Am I doing the right thing?

If he is happy there, then you are doing the right thing. I know you'll miss him but being able to go outside and play and go for walks will probably be good for him. Maybe you could get a nice lap kitty? They are easier to take care of because they are mostly self efficient.

I think you are doing the right thing, Sally. Dogs deserve good quality of life as much as we do. You are astute enough to recognize that his QOL could be better, and you are willing to sacrifice to help your friend.

Kudos to you! I know it is sad for you, though.

:hug::hug:How brave & selfless you are, my dear friend. I know it took a lot of courage to think of this, but as usual you think of the other's best interests.
Perhaps he can come for visits...
Maybe a kitty is a better answer:confused:

So brave and selfless of you. He loves you more for it... I admire your courage.

You are a strong woman to do that Sally

Oh Sally, I'm so sorry but I trust that you know in your head and heart what is best for your dear Pal.

I'm sad for you, Sally, but of course you're making the right choice for both of you. It's a blessing that there are people waiting for him with open arms! And you'll be able to keep in touch with him! We're down to one cat, and she's ten years old. We know she will be our last cat.

 Sally

You're strong and brave and selfless. I know how hard it must be for you. Even though you have the perfect situation with him staying in the family it's still a hard decision to have to make. But I know you know it's the best thing for him and ultimately for you. Thank you for thinking of his well-being before your own. :)

You are a beautiful, strong person. Pal is one lucky doggy, to have so many humans in his life who love him!
