Speech

After I had DBS (Deep Brain Stimulator) which is infamous for affecting the ability to speak I had speech therapy. The Silverman speech is usually used successfully with Parkinsonian patients and was extremely helpful for me. I went from completely incomprensible to normal in about 6 months time. It is a program that may need to repeated a few times as we patients get overwhelmed with all the symptoms we deal with and forget to remember to use the skills learned in our original therapy.

Good luck,
Vicky
