Sold Some Furniture - I Should Be Happy

I had advertised my dining room set on Craig's List back when I had my garage sale. I reposted it in January just to see if I'd get any takers. If I ever move to a smaller place I will probably not have room for formal dining room furniture (table, 8 chairs and a china cabinet). Neither son wants it or wants to pay to store it. It's a little fussy for a single guy......more suited for a family.

I got an email from a lady last night asking if I still had it. I got into a conversation with her via email and she used to live in this county and we know some of the same people! Small world!

She came over to look at it today and loved it. Called her SIL who had a van and he came with two other men and loaded it all up. My dining room is empty now and it echos if I talk in there. :(

I'm glad to have sold it. I have added to my "fund" and don't have to worry about what I'll do with it when the time comes to move. I have a table and chairs in my breakfast area so I have what I need.

Why am I sad???? :(

its hard to let go of things that served us well. even if its a good thing. Use the room for a ME ME ME room. make it a work out room, or a computer room. A sewing room? or just roll around on the floors! Take a deep breath, and walk forward. im proud of you!

Now you have room for that billiards table you always wanted! :D

I think the dining room set has memories. I can understand how you feel Kitty. I can't part with some things, even tho I need to
because of the memories they evoke!

You are really LUCKY to find someone who can cart that nice set away. That is the major problem with selling a large item!

The feeling will pass... a little grief, etc. Think of the nice home your set will have! Maybe that will help?

go buy a model train and build yourself a little town in the space.

Learn how to do curling!

get a massage table, and hire a masseuse.

Truth be told.......my cats have been skidding around on the hardwood floor chasing their toys this afternoon!! :D It's like a little kitty-cat skating rink now!

Wad up a little ball of aluminum foil for them and roll it out there. Ours can never get enough of rolling them around on the hardwood...

Oh, they'd love that. Anything that rolls is fair game for them to chase. Right now they love chasing those little colored pony tail bands. They have a basket full of toys yet they want to play with my hair accessories!!

I leave a ping pong ball in the bath tub. They LOVE that! I also dont have to chase it out from under things. They use the tub as a hockey rink.

We have a multicolored cotton rug at the front door, over hardwood floor. It is about 20 yrs old, and keeps it substance and color with washing. I bought it sooooo long ago...and it was a quality rug. It is about 2.5ft x 5ft.

Every cat we have had, especially now, Oreo, runs and accordions up the rug into the wall by the door, so we can't get in. Every day, sometimes more than once. It slides into the wall supporting the door frame. It is like ski-ing I guess! A great cat toy.

Our favorite toy is a pipecleaner...cotton type, rolled over a finger and into a spring form. This jumps and mimics a mouse, I guess. All the cats we have ever had love this type of toy.
(I fold the sharpey ends over on themselves so that they won't hurt the cats' mouths. They will play with these springey thingeys and run across the floor and mush up the rug. It never loses its allure!
