I have sleep apnea.

Well I heard from the sleep disorder/pulmonary doctor (actually I called) and I have to go back next week for the second study. Even though I was sleeping very lightly, I stopped breathing about 22 times in an hour. That sounds like a lot. He said it was moderate apnea. But if I was sleeping deeply, it might be even worse. So I will be trying out the CPAP machines next Wednesday night. Doctor asked me if I took my ambien and I told him yes. He then wanted to know if I always sleep so lightly:rolleyes: I responded sometimes. Hopefully the CPAP will help.

Barb,
I posted in daily insights about my machine...it's really easy to get used to...they had 2 sizes, I chose the small nose-only one...
It has really helped me...anything that improves your sleep will definitely improve your energy level and your health...
By the way, someone told me she got these things that are called "nose pillows"...it has two nodes that rest just inside your nostrils so you don't have the whole mask over your nose...she said it is so much more comfortable.
You might want to go online-maybe google CPAP machines and see what is offered. Knowledge is power, as you well know!!
Let us know what you find out...

My older sister has sleep apnea, and she told me to ask for the nose pillows too.

I don't have knowledge on sleep apnea, but just want to say you are in my thoughts and prayers and I hope this gets lined out for you soon.

I have the nose pillows on my CPAP. I don't know what I would do without my CPAP. I even use it if I'm taking a quick nap. It also helps my psoriasis since I can wear my lovely cap over my scalp medicine at night. The head gear for the CPAP holds it in place!!!
